- The German manager believes Arsenal would easily beat United.
Jurgen Klopp has earned a reputation for being a very salty manager. The German is always seen disregarding his opponents’ efforts after any unfavorable result for Liverpool.
The 56-year-old has been criticized by the soccer world for this rude attitude, but it seems like the Liverpool boss refuses to learn from his old mistakes. A recent episode of Jurgen Klopp’s saltiness came forth after his side had to play out a disappointing draw against Manchester United.

An injury-ladden Manchester United had miraculously taken a lead over Liverpool on matchday 31 of the 23/24 PL season. But a late Mohamed Salah penalty crushed United’s hope of winning against their arch-rivals on home territory.
Despite that, Manchester United’s overall performance was well-received by the soccer community. The team had shown extreme determination and resilience to contain a star-studded Liverpool side.
However, it seems that Jurgen Klopp wasn’t too pleased with the performance of ‘The Red Devils’ on the day. He feels that United’s gameplay against Liverpool wasn’t anything special. The German manager also believed that Manchester United would not be a problem for Arsenal if the team performed the same way as they did against Liverpool.
He said after the 2-2 draw, “Arsenal is a good football team. If Man United play like they did today, Arsenal will win the game.” Jurgen Klopp also reiterated that he’s quite convinced that Manchester United isn’t still comparable with some of England’s elite teams. Manchester United will take on Arsenal on May 11, 2024.
Manchester United was successful in keeping Liverpool at bay
Jurgen Klopp’s frustration is justified considering that Liverpool must have been very assured of the three points going into the match with United. After all, Liverpool’s star players were all in form, and ‘The Red Devils’ were on the back of a disappointing 4-3 loss to Chelsea.
However, Manchester United . totally spoiled Liverpool’s plans for the day. ‘The Red Devils’ managed to bounce back from a 1-0 deficit at halftime to lead the game 2-1 until the 84th minute. Jurgen Klopp must have been very shell-shocked by United’s resurgence in the second half, which is why he unreasonably slandered the team after the game.

Both of Manchester United’s goals were pieces of art. While Bruno Fernandes outsmarted the goalkeeper with a half-line strike, Kobbie Mainoo’s amazing curl shot gave the home team the lead. Had it not been for Mohamed Salah, Liverpool would have suffered a very embarrassing loss at the hands of their arch-nemesis.
The Merseyside club’s title ambitions too dealt a huge blow with the result. Liverpool (71 points) was forced to drop two precious points, which benefited both Arsenal (71 points) and Manchester City (70 points). The Premier League’s three-way title race just got more exciting after Liverpool and Manchester United’s latest game.
Jurgen Klopp was ruthlessly mocked by Man Utd fans
The German manager definitely had a tough day at the office during the Liverpool-Manchester United games. Klopp was anyways disappointed to see his team blow away a 1-goal lead before also getting flacked by the Manchester United crowd.
News reports reveal that the Old Trafford crowd was singing “Jurgen’s cracking up” to rile up the German manager. The manager was also embroiled in a confrontation with Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes in the dying moments of the game.
However, it is not the first time Jurgen Klopp has lost his cool during games. The German manager has been spotted fighting with rival managers and referees. This is certainly very unsportsmanlike behavior on the part of the Liverpool manager and is frankly not expected from him.

Such instances show that despite his tactical brilliance, Jurgen Klopp still has a dark side that he has refused to acknowledge. The German manager, like a decent human being, should have congratulated Manchester United for their superb effort rather than criticizing their standards.
Jurgen Klopp needs to work on this side of his personality and should learn how to accept defeats like a gentleman. Otherwise, his legacy might suffer a great blow if he continues to discount his opponents.
