SUMMARY
- Arsenal and Liverpool are once again at the risk of losing the Premier League title race to Manchester City.
- However, former Liverpool star Jamie Carragher has voiced his support for Mikel Arteta and Jurgen Klopp despite the recent fumbles.
Soccer pundit Jamie Carragher has sent Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta a message of support. Klopp and Arteta, widely regarded as two of the best managers in the Premier League, have recently faced criticism for their team’s poor performances. However, Carragher has voiced his support for the two managers.
Until last week, Liverpool and Arsenal were dreaming of winning the Premier League title. However, Liverpool’s loss to Crystal Palace and Arsenal’s defeat to Aston Villa has virtually handed Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City the Premier League title. Moreover, Liverpool and Arsenal’s season ambitions were dealt another blow after they were knocked out of the Europa League and the Champions League respectively in the last few days.
🗣️ Jamie Carragher: “If Arsenal & Liverpool are ‘bottling it’ in April and May, what does that say about Man Utd and Chelsea?
They’re clubs that have made so many poor decisions they’re nowhere near the required level. Arteta and Klopp are being judged to the ultimate standard… pic.twitter.com/5x8MfX53ob

Despite both Klopp and Arteta being highly reputed, Jamie Carragher feels that the Arsenal and Liverpool coach shouldn’t be burdened with comparison to Pep Guardiola. Carragher said, “Arteta and Klopp are being judged to the ultimate standard in taking on Guardiola.” Moreover, the ex-Liverpool star further threw shade at Manchester United and Chelsea, another two English giants that have struggled this season.
As per Carragher, United and Chelsea possess squads that are more equipped to take on Guardiola’s Manchester City than the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool. However, unlike Chelsea and United which are placed ninth and seventh in the league, Arsenal is second while Liverpool is third and is still in contention to win the Premier League if City slips up.
Jamie Carragher makes a bold claim after Real Madrid’s UCL semifinals qualification
Meanwhile, Jamie Carragher has made a rather bold suggestion after Real Madrid’s incredible UCL quarterfinal win against Manchester City. In a game that was almost entirely dominated by City, Real Madrid managed to edge Guardiola’s team on penalties. However, Carragher feels that Real Madrid didn’t do enough to be labeled as deserving winners of the quarterfinal tie.
🗣️ Jamie Carragher: “Real Madrid’s last shot on target was in the 12th minute. Anybody watching this game without knowing the names of the teams would say it’s an absolute mismatch and this team here (Real Madrid) is the luckiest team to go through.” pic.twitter.com/mpt4dVDctc

Carragher said, “Anybody watching this game without knowing the names of the teams would say it’s an absolute mismatch.” He further pointed out that Real Madrid‘s last shot on target, which resulted in a goal, was in the 12th minute of the match. Lastly, Carragher even went on to the extent of stating that Real Madrid has been the “luckiest” team among the four UCL semifinalists.
Jamie Carragher brutally mocks Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in a single sentence
Jamie Carragher also managed to brutally troll Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur with a single sentence. Carragher, who’s a die-hard Liverpool supporter, mercilessly trolled his rival clubs. Additionally, Carragher also made fun of Arsenal’s current situation and how they went from title challengers to a potentially trophyless season in the space of one week.
Carragher said, “Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal is in danger of becoming Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs; a side to be admired for nearly being great.” Current ex-coach Mauricio Pochettino, Tottenham Hotspurs often came close to winning titles but failed to do so. Similarly, under Arteta, Arsenal, including this season, have come close twice to winning the league title but have managed to bottle their chances.
