Soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo recently offered some valuable advice during a press conference segment. The striker, currently on a pre-season tour in Japan with Al-Nassr, was asked to give young kids some pointers on the road to success. In response, the 38-year-old highlighted the importance of hard work.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has often cited ‘hard work’ as the most important key to success. And this occasion was no different. Ronaldo said, “The talent is not enough, you have to work through the talent. If not, you’re not going to achieve the most important things.”
In a classy gesture, he went on to wish kids everywhere success in their lives, “I wish that many other kids can be successful in their lives because this is the most important thing. I have five kids and I wish all my kids the same thing. So, I wish all the kids the best things, which is (to be) successful in their lives. A lot of work is my advice.”

Ronaldo is viewed by many as an astute example of hard work coming to fruition. As per his admission, the striker wasn’t confident in his abilities near the start of his career. And it took extra hours on the pitch, countless gym sessions, and plenty of hard work to help him reach the summit of soccer.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s words of wisdom for Ronaldo Jr
Cristiano Ronaldo has given similar advice to his son, Ronaldo Jr, who aims to emulate his father’s astounding success. The striker once took the 13-year-old to visit his childhood home – the Marques de Pombal residence in Madeira. He recounted the story during an interview and stated that he is trying to instill his principles of hard work into the young soccer player.
Ronaldo said, “We went to the room where I used to live with Paixao. He couldn’t believe it. They think everything today is easy. The quality of life, the houses, the cars. The way we dress. They think these things fall from the sky. You have to work hard and that’s what I’m trying to make him understand.”
