A French media report regarding Lionel Messi and his former Paris Saint Germain (PSG) teammate Vitinha surfaced earlier. However, the PSG’s number seventeen quickly denied the viability of the report and exposed the claims made by the French media.
The French report suggested that Lionel Messi informed Vitinha that – “Not only you are weak, but you are hurting me”.
According to the reports this happened in the first month of the year 2022. By rejecting this, Portuguese player Vitinha said – “I do not usually comment on anything about press. But, this time I have to say it. It is completely false that this happened”.
French media reported that Messi told Vitinha last January: “Not only you are weak, but you’re hurting me”.

Vitinha played alongside Messi during the Argentinian’s time at the French club PSG. So far Vitinha has played fifty-four matches for the Ligue 1 club. The Portuguese midfielder also has five assists and two goals for the club. He joined PSG in July 2022, having a contract with the club that expires on June 2027.
Vitinha got his recognition during his playing time for FC Porto in Portugal. The 23-year-old had fifty-nine appearances for the Portugal-based club. In addition to his good performances as a central midfielder, the player also had ten goal contributions. This was in the form of his four goals and six assists for them.
While Lionel signed for PSG in 2021. During his seventy-five outings for the club, he netted thirty-two goals and also had thirty-five assists to his tally. The Argentinian left the French side when the 2022-2023 season ended. He joined PSG from his boyhood club Barcelona after leaving the Spanish club following a gigantic seventeen-year spell with them.
When Lionel Messi compared his PSG move to his recent signing for Inter Miami
During a press conference, Argentina’s number ten was of the opinion that his move to PSG wasn’t as well planned or thought out as his move to Inter Miami was. Miami’s number ten suggested that this decision wasn’t taken suddenly or in a single day. Taking his family into consideration, he further stated now they have got to the place were they wanted to be.
On the other hand, as per the reports, the veteran stated that in his decision to come to the United States, his family also contributed equally. The Argentinian joined the Major League Soccer (MLS) side Inter Miami in July 2023. His current contract with the MLS club runs till December 2025. Unlike, his stint with PSG the 36-year-old looks quite settled with his latest club and continues to perform well.
