The Premier League Champions Manchester City’s star forward, Erling Haaland, holds Cristiano Ronaldo on the list of his role models. The center forward gives credit for being a soccer star to Ronaldo and attributes him to his historic treble-winning season. The Norwegian says that during his childhood days, his admiration for CR7 and his achievements were really high.
Erling Haaland said, “I would love to have a conversation with Cristiano Ronaldo and tell him that I’m a soccer player thanks to him”. This statement itself signifies his fondness and likability for the Portuguese star.

Haaland also admitted how, over the years, the striker has observed Ronaldo’s movements in the box before the UEFA Champions League final against Inter Milan. The Norwegian further demonstrated his admiration for Cristiano’s finishing skills. However, with the impact that CR7 created for the Red Devils, City’s main man would love to create something similar for his current club.
In the Premier League, Erling has made thirty-eight appearances and scored thirty-nine goals so far for Manchester City. While the player has a total of thirty outings in the UEFA Champions League, he has 35 goals to his name. His Champions League stats include his matches and goals for Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund, and FC Red Bull Salzburg.
However, Cristiano Ronaldo has played a total of two hundred and thirty-six times in the Premier League. The Portuguese scored one hundred-three goals and registered thirty-nine assists in the league. As far as Ronaldo’s Champions League numbers are concerned, the former United star has one hundred and forty goals to his tally, the most by any player in the competition.
When Erling Haaland’s excellent Manchester City performance stunned Cristiano Ronaldo
In the 2022–2023 season of the Premier League, Manchester United faced Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. United went 3-0 down just inside the first forty-two minutes of the match. It was all down to the majestic display of the talisman, Erling Haaland.
While sitting on the substitute bench, Ronaldo was seen in shock and disappointment over his team’s lackluster performance in the first half. The fans and media turned to his expression as the result of him being stunned by the City’s Norwegian striker’s instinct in front of the goal and his teammate’s inability to cop with him.

Haaland scored two goals and assisted one in the first forty-five minutes. The forward also netted in the sixty-fourth minute and ended up bagging a hat-trick. Although Anthony Martial scored two late goals for United and salvaged some pride, Manchester City ended up winning the game with a score-line of 6-3.
