Harry Maguire’s redemption arc has surprised many. One of them is the famous Ghanaian MP, Isaac Adongo who ridiculed the English defender for a poor phase of form a year back.
Maguire has put a decent shift in for Manchester United in the absence of Argentine defender Lisandro Martinez. The English defender has won back the trust of his manager Erik ten Hag who stripped him of his captaincy earlier this season.
Last year, Adongo, a member of Ghana’s National Democratic Congress (NDC), made relation of Maguire to Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, dubbing him the “Economic Maguire.” This comparison was made in connection to budgetary mismanagement by Bawumia’s New Patriotic Party. Additionally, Adongo had accused Maguire of “assisting opponents” on the soccer field.
“I apologise to Harry Maguire. He has turned the corner and is a transformational footballer. He is now a key player for Manchester United.”

However, much to the surprise of the fans, Isaac Adongo, Maguire has now received a surprise apology from the politician who once mocked him for “assisting opponents.”
Adongo stated, “I apologise to Harry Maguire. He has turned the corner and is a transformational footballer. He is now a key player for Manchester United.”
The England international has seized this chance with both hands, featuring prominently in United’s recent league outings. Notably, Maguire has played the full 90 minutes in the team’s last five matches, showcasing resilience and determination.
