Manchester United FC has been playing very poorly this season, and many players seem to be doubting their manager Erik ten Hag, his strategy and training techniques. This season, Erik has faced a lot of criticism because of his players’ lackluster play and below-average performances.
United has lost 11 of its 23 games so far this season, and their dismal 1-0 loss to Newcastle on December 2 might have been their worst performance so far. During the match, Marcus Rashford, another attacker, was criticized for lacking effort, while Anthony Martial and Ten Hag got into a furious disagreement over low work rate.
Records broken so far this season –

Not only that, Erik ten Hag’s time at United has seen them break some records that were never meant to be broken as per their fans and rich history, this brought Ten Hag into the Hall of Shame. Some of the records that they broke in a negative way for the club were:
A shocking but true one is that Bournemouth had never won at Old Trafford, Until Erik ten Hag. Another one broken is Manchester United hadn’t lost 4 of the opening 7 games in PL history, until Erik ten Hag. Also, Manchester United hadn’t lost 3 games in a row to Newcastle United since 1922, until Erik ten Hag.
Not only that the list continues as no English team in CL history had ever conceded 14 goals in the first 5 CL group games, until Erik ten Hag. This one shocked the fans too as Manchester United had never dropped this many points from a winning position in CL history, until Erik ten Hag.
Manchester United lost 0-3 to AFC Bournemouth at Old Trafford
A dreadful Erik Ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, is under increasing pressure after his team lost to Bournemouth 3-0 at home on December 9 in the Premier League. Though a win against Chelsea in the middle of the week had given rise to hope, Ten Hag’s United’s decline this season was made evident by Bournemouth’s impressive play.
As his disorganized squad was thoroughly outplayed and lucky not to lose by a larger margin, the Dutchman watched in the pouring rain at Old Trafford, looking dejected. While many home fans had long already walked off, Bournemouth fans insulted Ten Hag with chants of “You’re getting sacked in the morning” as the final whistle blew.

“You’ve got to be at your best in every game, starting with focus. When you start like we did, you get killed,” Ten Hag said. “They are good opponents but we have to do better. I’ve got to take responsibility for it. The situation seems to get worse as they face FC Bayern Munich in the UCL next and Liverpool FC at Anfield after that.
It would be interesting to watch how Erik manages to escape the current upheaval that both he and his side are going through. Erik would want to use this phase to his advantage and bring his club back on track for the remainder of the season. With several important games left for United, this will be a pivotal time in his career.
