Lyon’s passionate Ultras, known as the Bad Gones, did not mince words in expressing their disappointment after witnessing their team’s humiliating defeat at the hands of PSG, led by Kylian Mbappe.
Following a disheartening 4-1 loss to PSG, Lyon found themselves languishing at the bottom of the Ligue 1 table, with just one solitary point to their name. Understandably, fans were seething with frustration over the team’s lackluster performance and did not hold back in articulating their discontent.
In the aftermath of the match, thousands of irate fans compelled the Olympique Lyonnais players to confront their ire. A member of the Ultras group seized the microphone to convey a message directly to the squad.
With fervor in his voice, the fan delivered a passionate address, primarily directed at the Olympique Lyonnais 2023-2024 squad, especially those who bear the responsibility of being perceived as leaders within the dressing room. The message was unequivocal: Leaders within the squad can no longer remain silent.

“You wear the Olympique Lyonnais jersey. Others before you have worn it, glorified it. You do not have the privilege of tarnishing it. Don’t smear it,” he vehemently proclaimed.
The fan’s speech reached its culmination with a plea for respect towards the revered jersey and a call for the players to elevate their performance on the pitch. “We cherish and honor this shirt, we only ask one more thing: Make us chant your names. We anticipate that you will respect our jersey, muster the strength to improve your performance, and, if need be, face adversity with your heads held high. Go OL,” added the fan.
Kylian Mbappe’s stellar brace, along with goals from Achraf Hakimi and Marco Asensio, propelled PSG to a commanding victory. As for Lyon, they must endure the international break before confronting their next challenge, a home match against Le Havre on September 18.
Kylian Mbappe moves to the top of the goal-scoring charts in Ligue 1
PSG, following an initial stumble in the league, has made an impressive resurgence with consecutive victories. The driving force behind these triumphs has unquestionably been Kylian Mbappe, who currently tops the charts with an impressive five goals in just three matches.
Despite a turbulent summer marked by disagreements with the PSG board, Kylian Mbappe is now hitting his stride with the French club as he enters the final year of his contract.
Earlier reports had suggested that Mbappe harbored desires to be the sole superstar at the club and struggled to connect with the South American contingent led by Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr.

During the summer, a significant portion of those players were shown the exit door, making way for a stronger French foundation within PSG’s ranks. This strategic shift aims to entice Mbappe into committing to a long-term contract, thereby eliminating the risk of losing him on a free transfer next summer.
Regardless of the off-field dynamics, Mbappe is flourishing within the new system implemented by coach Luis Enrique. These early signs of success bode well for French fans, who hold hopes that their prized gem will opt to prolong his stay at the club, choosing PSG over his dream destination, Real Madrid.
