Cristiano Ronaldo suffered a neck injury during Al-Nassr’s match against Persepolis. The 38-year-old was spotted in some pain. It was after he went one-on-one against the opposition’s goalkeeper in order to win a floated cross. The Al-Nassr’s medical team imminently reached the pitch to have a look at him.
The player was then substituted by Al-Nassr’s manager Luis Castro in the later stages of the match. Ever since then, the fans of CR7 have been pleading to know the extent of his injury. Al-Nassr’s hierarchy also won’t want CR7 to pick up a serious injury and miss out on a number of games. His unavailability would hurt their current good run of form.
However, a report by ‘CristianoXtra’ on ‘X’, states that the 38-year-old will not take part in Al-Nassr’s upcoming match against FC Istiklol. CR7’s elimination from the squad is made in order to give him rest and facilitate his recovery from the neck injury.

Earlier the reports stated that Cristiano Ronaldo had recuperated from the injury. Also, the Portuguese player was spotted training with the Al-Nassr. It can be figured that his neck injury wasn’t that grave. However, the manager might have thought that substituting him against Persepolis was the right thing to do.
The Al-Nassr’s manager Luis Castro might not want to take any chances regarding CR7. So, the club’s decision to omit him from their upcoming match seems precautionary. They would want to be one hundred percent sure regarding his fitness.
Cristiano Ronaldo praised by Al-Nassr’s manager for imparting ‘energy’ into the squad
Al-Nassr’s manager Luis Castro has often heaped praises for his star forward Ronaldo. However, this time around, the 62-year-old opined towards the effect that the veteran Portugal number seven has on his squad of players at Al-Nassr.

As per a report from ‘GOAL’, Luis expressed – “It’s hard to say something about him (Ronaldo) that the world doesn’t know”. Commenting on CR7’s focus on the game, the manager stated – “He transmits a contagious energy to the game and to his teammates”. Luis further lauded the training routines of CR7.
On CR7’s disciplinary measures, Luis Castro inflicted – “Food, rest, hours of sleep, it’s total control of his body”. From the statements of the Saudi Pro League manager, it can be inferred that, by his approach to the game, CR7 sets an example for the rest of his teammates at Al-Nassr. Also, his dressing room presence seems to be working for the club, as the players are performing brilliantly on the pitch.
