Arsenal FC is one of the most decorated clubs in the English Premier League and has won the most prestigious “Invincible” Premier League golden trophy. No other club in the EPL has managed to do that apart from Arsene Wenger and his side. The retired Arsene Wenger is one of the best managers in this sport and he recently opened up on how he was not able to sign Luis Suarez from Liverpool FC.
In the summer of 2014, Luis Suarez was the talk of Europe thanks to his 31 Premier League goals for Liverpool. The Uruguayan international was being courted by Arsenal, who were in advanced talks to sign him. But after the Gunners notoriously made an offer of £40 million plus £1 for the striker, the deal collapsed.
🗣️Arsène Wenger: “We had an agreement with Luis Suárez and his agent.
But the agent claimed that there was a clause; with an offer above £40m, Liverpool would be obliged to let him go. To check this was true, we offered £40,000,001 – It wasn’t.” pic.twitter.com/IcMRSNj8Z3

After missing the first seven games due to suspension, Suarez accomplished a remarkable achievement in his final year at Anfield: he scored 31 goals in the top flight. Later on, Liverpool would transfer Suarez to Barcelona for £75 million, making him the third-highest scorer in Barcelona history.
Arsene Wenger opens up on snubbing Robin Van Persie’s transfer
After spending three seasons at Manchester United, Arsene Wenger made a startling disclosure in his latest book about Robin van Persie’s wish to rejoin Arsenal. Robin was one of the best players at Arsenal, developing into a lethal forward in the EPL.
In a stunning £24 million transfer from Arsenal to Old Trafford in 2012, Van Persie led United to their 20th Premier League title—and his own. Also, after winning the Premier League in 2005, Arsenal has not won it again in seven years, and the Dutchman is now a legendary figure at United.

Van Persie’s plea to return to Arsenal before leaving United was disclosed by Wenger in his book Arsene Wenger: My Life in Red and White. He wrote, “After three years of the four that he signed for, he was injured and [Louis] Van Gaal sold him to the Turkish club Fenerbahce. He called me because he wanted to come back, but it was impossible: he was at the end of his career and we were investing in young players.”
Robin Van Persie played at the top for many years for Arsenal FC and Manchester United FC and was one of the best forwards in the league. Also, soccer fans to this date admire him and respect him a lot for whatever he has done for their respective clubs.
