Former Al-Nassr striker and the captain of the Cameroon national team, Vincent Aboubakar has recently blasted Al-Nassr’s fate after he was axed from the side following Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival.
The 31-year-old striker joined the Saudi club back in 2021 and scored 13 goals with 6 assists having made 39 appearances for the club. Before Ronaldo’s arrival, he was the goal machine for Rudi Garcia’s side and had enough responsibilities on his shoulders.
However, Ronaldo’s arrival was not much anticipated by Aboubakar as he was forced to leave the club. However, the primary reason that led to his departure was the constraints of the foreign player quota. In a recent interview, Aboubakar took a dig at Al-Nassr’s current performance and stated, “I was an unbelievable striker at Al Nassr but they kicked me out and signed Cristiano Ronaldo for no reason, Alnassr won’t Win the league title for the next 10 years”.

A few months back, the Cameroonian also opened up on Ronaldo’s message to him at the time of the Portuguese’s arrival. He revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo tried to convince him to stay, however, Aboubakar wanted to be closer to his family who resided in France. Fortunately, he received an offer from Besiktas, a Turkish club, which allowed him to be closer to his loved ones which made him leave Al-Nassr.
He said, “We talked a bit and his [Cristiano’s] opinion was that he wanted me to stay – I told him, ‘No, that I will leave for family reasons.”
Aboubakar currently plays for Besiktas and has already found the back of the net 4 times this season from 11 appearances. Besiktas are currently placed third in the Super Lig with 26 points from 14 games.
Vincent Aboubakar unveils Rudi Garcia’s brutal message after Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival
Vincent Aboubakar recently revealed a few months back the stark reality he faced when the former Al-Nassr coach Rudi Garcia delivered the news that one international player had to make way for Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival during the second half of the last season.
Ronaldo’s departure from Manchester United eventually put Aboubakar’s place in the Al-Nassr squad at risk because of the constraints of foreign player quota.
There are 7 combined league goals between the two captains 🇬🇲 🇨🇲 for their club Beşiktaş this season.

The Cameroonian didn’t like the manager’s words which eventually left him a bit angry. He said, “I left a little angry because it was not easy. When Cristiano arrived, [Al Nassr] coach Rudi Garcia called me into his office and told me that normally an international player has to leave, it’s either me or Jaloliddin Masharipov.”
Finally, during the winter transfer of the 2022/23 season, Aboubakar eventually made his destination to Turkey after signing for Besiktas. Aboubakar had 6 months left in his contract for Al-Nassr.
