With the total spending close to $207 million, Manchester United’s Manager Erik ten Hag would have thought that his team was ready to go for the new season. However, the red carpet didn’t roll out as well as the manager wanted. It is speculated that Erik ten Hag wants three more signings amid the current chaos at United before the window closes this Friday.
It’s been a rough few weeks for United fans. The news of Mason Greenwood, no longer being able to play for the club and the injury of the latest midfield arrival Mason Mount. To add to these things there have been several fan protests about the ownership of the Glazer family as well. With all the news coming out of United’s camp, the new signings could change the mood a bit.

The first of the three new signings is supposed to be Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. According to the sources, Hojbjerg has been offered to the Red Devils.
Amid United’s need to strengthen their midfield, Hojbjerg can be the one whom the Manchester side can target in this transfer window. The player has made 111 appearances for the Spurs, with 8 goals and 11 assists to his name.
Another midfielder for whom United’s manager Erik ten Hag wants to go is Seria A side ACF Fiorentina’s player Sofyan Amrabat. The player has 83 outings in the Seria A so far. Though the midfielder has scored only 1 goal and assisted only 1, his ball-holding potential in the midfield area could be a game-changer for ten Hag’s new-look United.

Erik ten Hag also seems to have FC Bayern Munich’s midfielder Ryan Gravenberch on his list. The midfielder has also represented the Dutch National team. The player has 25 matches in the Bundesliga for Bayern so far. Gravenberch has also played in the Champions League for the German-based club.
Manchester United and Erik ten Hag want $38 million former Barcelona target Sofyan Amrabat
Manchester United has been once again linked with the $38 million-priced ACF Fiorentina and the Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat. Erik ten Hag rates the player highly.
With the United’s lack of cutting edge in the midfield area, links to Amrabat have been surfacing in the media. It’s been speculated that the Red Devils’s hierarchy wants the player.
However, the Italian side Fiorentina seems less interested in letting the midfielder leave this summer. Any deal could be a tough nut to crack for Manchester United. Amrabat’s solid performance at the FIFA World Cup 2022 also seemed to catch the eye of fans around the world.
It remains to be seen if United can bring the midfielder to Old Trafford before the transfer window closes. United currently has no Financial Fair Play (FFP) issues, so the price tag won’t be an issue for them.
