Cristiano prefers the Saudi Pro League over the MLS
Recently, Cristiano Ronaldo appeared to be criticizing Lionel Messi for choosing to play Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States rather than the Saudi Pro League. Ronaldo decided to carry on with his career in the Middle East by agreeing to a big deal with Al-Nassr. Ronaldo rejected the idea of playing in Major League Soccer in the future, saying the Saudi League is better.

He said, “The Saudi league is better than MLS.” This was a clear swipe towards his fellow soccer rival, Lionel Messi, and his fans. Ronaldo has always been competitive by nature and has been vocal about his choices regarding his career and future plans.
Ronaldo gave an interview to the media following Al-Nassr’s 5-0 defeat against Celta Vigo in a friendly played in Portugal in 2023, stating that he thought the Saudi league was superior to Major League Soccer. He asserted that he had cleared the path for other athletes to join the Saudi League and forecasted that more elite athletes would decide to sign in the upcoming season.
Cristiano Ronaldo was ready to join the MLS before trashing it
Cristiano Ronaldo appeared on the cover of GQ alongside Brazilian beauty Alessandra Ambrosio. Additionally, he appeared online in a GQ juggling video where he was sporting his heading skills alongside the model. The goal of the training activity being done by the two is to keep the ball off the ground for as long as they can.

Furthermore, Ronaldo’s opinions on soccer in the United States of America were among the subjects that sparked a lot of discussion. “Maybe in the future will be a good chance for me to play there [in America],” he said. “You never know, but it’s something interesting. I consider it, of course, because as I’ve said, soccer there has become better and better … I think that this is maybe going to be possible.”
Ronaldo did not, however, keep his word when he moved to Al Nassr FC in 2023 rather than the MLS, choosing the Saudi state above the American league. He was the Saudi team’s top goal scorer in 2023 and has been playing exceptionally well.
