After conquering the Soccer world, Cristiano Ronaldo has taken over social media as well. The 38-year-old has been Instagram’s most-followed account for a while. And now, he has also topped the rankings for the highest-paid celebrity on the platform, beating out the likes of Kylie Jenner, Lionel Messi, and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
The Al-Nassr striker has hit new levels of marketability in the past few years, as indicated by a recently released list from Hopper HQ. The list in question has crowned Ronaldo as the highest-paid celebrity on Instagram. By factoring in average engagement, industry-related variables, and total follower count, Hopper HQ has estimated that the forward can earn up to $2.4 million from a single Instagram post.

Ronaldo’s endorsements on Instagram include Binance, Therabody, Herbalife, and Livescore. The Portugal International also uses the platform to promote its own line of products, such as CR7 Fragrances, and Ursu9. His earning statistics have increased exponentially since 2019. The striker sat in third place on the list that year, commanding a per-post value of $990,000.
The Al-Nassr player also topped the Forbes highest-paid athletes list for 2023. And as such, it’s safe to say that Ronaldo is the richest individual in the world of sports.
Lionel Messi ranks third on Instagram’s highest-earning celebs list
Joining Cristiano Ronaldo on the list is his competitive rival, Lionel Messi. The Argentine, whose Instagram account has garnered 479 million followers, is ranked third on the list. As per Hopper HQ’s estimates, the Inter Miami player earns $1.7 million per sponsored post. His endorsements include Budweiser, Gatorade, Bitget, and Orcam.

The 35-year-old missed out on second place by a figure of $100 million, although first-placed Ronaldo is ahead by a healthy amount. Messi’s marketability is likely to soar even higher during his spell in the MLS, as the forward will establish a greater hold over American audiences.
