Argentinean soccer player and manager Diego Armando Maradona played professionally. He became one of the two joint holders of the FIFA Player of the 20th Century accolade and is widely considered one of the best players in the history of the game.
With his tiny size and excellent vision, passing, ball control, and dribbling abilities, Maradona was a skilled playmaker who occupied the traditional number 10 position. This provided him with a low center of gravity and superior maneuverability over other players. Even though the opponent would frequently target him, his leadership and presence on the field had a significant impact on his team’s overall performance.

When Maradona moved to Barcelona in 1982 for £5 million ($8 million) and then to Napoli in 1984 for £6.9 million ($10 million), he became the first player in history to establish a transfer fee record twice. During his club career, he played for Argentinos Juniors, Boca Juniors, Barcelona, Napoli, Sevilla, and Newell’s Old Boys.
However, he is most known for his two years as the team’s captain at Napoli, when he won multiple awards and twice guided the team to the Serie A title. The soccer community to this day respects and admires the Argentine great.
Not only that, Maradona was a serious character on the pitch but completely the opposite of it. He was a very funny chap and always used to joke around with his teammates. Also, at times he joked around in the post-match and pre-match interviews with the reporters.

However, during a press conference, an English reporter asked him, “Can love win the World Cup, so are you unilaterally affectionate with everybody?” Maradona surely reacted in a very funny way with his eyes popping out and everyone having a laugh.

Maradona nodded his head in shock and replied, “I prefer the women, I prefer the women, I’m dating a woman, she’s 31 years old, she’s blonde and she’s beautiful.” Maradona has always been a funny character off the field but on it, he was a proper leader with a mentality to win.
Diego Maradona’s hilarious interview regarding Mexican soccer
The late 60-year-old was the manager of the Mexican team Dorados. He was once regarded as one of the best soccer players of all time, if not the greatest. For them, as well as the Mexican league generally, it was undoubtedly a high-profile appointment. The league lacked the global appeal of several significant divisions in the world of soccer.
