The King of Strong Style Shinsuke Nakamura has been one of the most impressive in-ring performers ever. His performances have been applauded not only by the WWE Universe but by fans from all around the globe. Nakamura’s endless thirst and passion for professional wrestling have given him a lot of accomplishments down the road.
As a popular signing, Nakamura joined WWE at the beginning of 2016. The former NJPW star made a quick impression on the WWE, taking home two NXT Championships in his first year of competition. A few years later, he emerged victorious in the 2018 Royal Rumble event.
Some fans have conjectured that since Nakamura isn’t as frequently featured on WWE TV, the Japanese star may wish to retire from the ring or go somewhere to wrestle. Nakamura stated in an interview with Aaron Bronsteter for SportsNet that he intends to stick with WWE because he believes he still has a lot to accomplish in his present position.
“I’ve been wrestling (for WWE) for over eight years right now. I want to keep wrestling for WWE to give the fans more dream matches. That’s what I want to do, I want to show my passion.”, said Nakamura. He further stated how he wants to face more challenges in his professional career ahead.
Shinsuke Nakamura’s recent booking decisions have been underwhelming
The King of Strong Style has had a decorated career in the WWE with several championships under his name. His feuds with Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Cody Rhodes, and many more top-tier talents have uplifted his career in the WWE. Since his arrival on NXT in 2016, he has put up some instant classics in the company and has given his fans something to cheer about.
His magical run since joining the main roster sadly ended after losing every championship opportunity and Nakamura hasn’t recovered since then. Fans wanted Nakamura to have more opportunities but the King of Strong Style got featured in random filler matches with no end product. With such potential, WWE underutilized Shinsuke and wasn’t able to recover the price.
Shinsuke Nakamura hasn’t been seen on live WWE TV since April
Despite giving him chances against Seth Rollins’ World Heavyweight Championship in 2023, WWE didn’t have any plans for Nakamura after the feud ended. Nakamura also had a short rivalry with Cody Rhodes which ended in January giving Shinsuke another loss. With a string of losses, his last televised match came against Sheamus on April 22, which he lost.
Given the amount of effort and time the company is giving to Nakamura, fans speculated that he might leave the company. His loyalty and passion for the sport show how dedicated he is to the task and continues to face obstacles down the road.
