The NBA has been witnessing a lot of changes lately, and all the dominant playoff performers there once were aren’t in the post-season anymore. Newer talent has been taking over and the playoffs are probably the most interesting it’s ever been in a while. During the Dallas Mavericks vs LA Clippers Game 5 halftime report, the cast of Inside the NBA took over and the introduction music featured Kendrick Lamar’s newly released single “Euphoria”.

The TNT super-group was caught off guard and their reactions were pricey. Kenny Smith chimed in and said, “C’mon man, y’all putting us in the middle of the rap beef.” Shaquille O’Neal and the rest of the crew also laughed it off as the legend said, “That’s the Euphoria in the background?” Obviously, there is a long history between the NBA and the rap music industry. But this crew certainly wanted no part of the feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake.
Fans are convinced that the NBA on TNT crew supports Kendrick Lamar over Drake
For those who aren’t aware, Lamar and Drake are two of the biggest rappers in the music scene at the moment. Drake released a collaboration piece with J. Cole called “First Person Shooter”. The song featured a line that referred to both rappers and Lamar as the rap scene’s Big 3. Lamar took offense to it and claimed he was better than Drake and J.Cole as well. Lamar’s latest single is a six-minute song that has various references to Drake and who Lamar thinks he truly is.
Fans immediately took notice of the segment and were convinced that the NBA on TNT supported Kendrick Lamar. One X user said, “Damn Television picking side now?” Another user added, “Shaq likes it.” Some fans also realized that this was a major upset for Drake, who has been a massive supporter of the NBA over the years.
Whether it was intentional or not, this certainly made good television. The NBA on TNT group is known for their hilarious exchanges and takes on the sport. However, their reaction to Euphoria being played in the background was uncalled for.
