WWE and TNA seems to be engaged in a historic partnership, as Total Nonstop Action’s Knockouts Champion, Jordynne Grace, recently made her NXT debut. The female superstar didn’t just appear on the yellow brand; she even got an opportunity to fight for the show’s Women’s Championship. As Grace recently made a shift to the Triple H-led promotion, Drew McIntyre has hinted at something similar.
The Scottish Warrior has been doing some of his best work in the Stamford-based promotion under his heel persona. In fact, he recently signed a brand new contract with the organization which was revealed by none other than The Rock. But, despite such special treatment, Drew seems to be interested in a change, as he has teased that he’ll do the unthinkable.
The reason why this is being considered the case is the recent tweet by Drew, in which he hinted at potentially going to TNA amid all the ongoing speculations around the situation between the promotions. Giving rise to a variety of theories through his official X handle, the 38-year-old in-ring performer wrote, “Doors open both ways.”

For those who didn’t really get the context, McIntyre most probably talked about the forbidden door between the companies. As the door opened with Jordynne’s recent appearance in WWE’s developmental territory, the 6-foot-6 was quick to get himself into the discussion by putting out the speculation of potentially returning to TNA. But it remains to be seen if it’s actually going to happen, or if he just said it to grab the attention of the pro wrestling community.
WWE fans share their excitement over Drew McIntyre’s potential TNA run
As soon as Drew shared the tweet about a possible return to his former workplace, WWE fans started sharing their excitement over Drew McIntyre’s potential TNA run. Sharing how this could be a great thing for the 38-year-old in-ring star, someone said, “I really like how this is turning out. Let him cook!” (Via: X)
Pointing out the character McIntyre used to portray in Impact Wrestling during his previous tenure, an audience member wrote, “Let’s go galloway.” “See you in TNA soon Drew,” another fan commented. “This will be epic,” a pro wrestling enthusiast said while claiming that The Scottish Warrior’s return to TNA would probably be a spectacular turn of events.
Drew McIntyre already has a huge match at WWE Clash at the Castle
While the fans are looking excited about watching McIntyre in TNA, it’s important to remember that Drew McIntyre already has a huge match at WWE Clash at the Castle. In the PLE, which is scheduled to be held on June 15, 2024, at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland, The Scottish Warrior is going to have a shot at winning the World Heavyweight Championship.
The 6-foot-6 performer will be challenging Damian Priest for the prestigious title in front of his home country crowd, and that’s why he’s being considered the favorite to walk out with the championship. If that’s the case, the Stamford-based promotion may not like to send a world champion from their organization to appear in TNA.

But on the other side of things, CM Punk’s potential interference could also lead to a loss for The Scottish Warrior, and that’s how WWE could be moving ahead with the feud between Punk and McIntyre. Amid the kind of situation Drew’s current run in the Triple H-led promotion is in, it doesn’t seem like the company would be willing to let him be in TNA. But it remains to be seen what the future holds for the veteran in-ring star.
