After the match, speculation began to rise that Adam Copeland might have suffered a leg injury during the match. With that, the former WWE superstar took to his ‘X’ handle to confirm the speculations.
He shared a video stating, “I’ve been feeling really good lately. Been having so much fun in the ring, and I got cocky, I guess, is what it really boils down to, and I’m probably a narcissist and an ego-maniac, and I’ll unpack that one day. My brain forgets what my body always seems to remember a little late is that I’m 50, and I need to make better choices.”

He added that his body had pulled the emergency break during the event, and he ended up fracturing his tibia. Copeland further revealed that the injury would require surgery. However, he mentioned that he doesn’t yet know the time frame for his surgery. Thus, it can be understood that the AEW Superstar might be sidelined for several months now.
The potential reason why Adam Copeland, aka Edge, broke his leg
Adam Copeland, aka Edge, recently revealed that he fractured his tibia during his match against Malakai Black. Meanwhile, a video from the match has gone viral, and it showcases a dangerous high-flying spot in the match.
Also, many have speculated that this spot might be the potential reason why Copeland broke his leg. In the video, the former WWE star can be seen setting up Malakai on a table and tying him with barbed wire. Edge then scaled the steel cage and delivered an elbow drop from the top of the cage.

However, it is not yet confirmed if that was the exact spot where Edge suffered the injury. Whatsoever, that particular spot was shocking and gave chills to almost everyone watching the match.
Adam Copeland vs. Malakai Black highlights
At AEW Double or Nothing 2024, Adam Copeland was set to defend the AEW TNT Championship against Malakai Black in a barbed wire cage match. With that, the match began with Black dominating Adam.
However, Malakai soon got cut open by the barbed wire, and Copeland began attacking him. Soon, Black began forcing the former WWE superstar into the wire. But Copeland came with two consecutive powerbombs.
Moving forward, both men kept dominating each other. Meanwhile, Black nailed the avalanche powerbomb through the table. Copeland then set up a new table and put Black on the table. He then tied him to the table, climbed to the top of the steel cage, and performed the elbow drop.
Thereafter, Buddy Matthews and Brody King came out and stood beside Black. With that, they began attacking Copeland. Soon, Gangrel came out and nailed the Impaler DDT on King and Matthews. Moving ahead, Adam came with a spear and applied a barbed wire arm trap for the win. Thus, Adam Copeland retained the AEW TNT Championship.
However, as of now, he has announced that he will be requiring surgery. With that, it is to be seen if Copeland will have to vacate the title due to his upcoming surgery hiatus. Whatever the case, his beloved fans will look forward to more updates about his health.
