Barret recorded a previous career high of 36 points while playing against the Los Angeles Lakers in February 2022. What’s astonishing is that the player threw 30 dimes in the first half alone, also establishing his career high in the first half. He even made 14 free throws and 22 free throw attempts, which are still his best records even after the trade to the Raptors. The guard/forward seems to maintain the same streak with the new team, as he continues to stay in the limelight for his stellar performance.
RJ Barrett registers a season-high 37 points after the Raptors trade
RJ Barrett ended his four-plus seasons in Manhattan, playing for the New York Knicks, as 2024 hit the league. While the Knicks traded the 23-year-old and Immanuel Quickley for a three-man yield headlined by OG Anunoby, Barrett exploded in the fourth game with the new team.
The Toronto Raptors (15-21) faced off against the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center on January 7, 2024. Amidst the act of settling in with the new team, Barrett threw in 37 buckets, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. During his 36 minutes on the hardwood, the guard/forward set his record at a season high in his fourth game with the Raptors. This is the third win for the Raptors in the last four face-offs, and they have beaten the Warriors 133-118 in San Francisco.
