CM Punk participated in the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble match, which resulted in Punk suffering an injury on his right triceps. Though he was unable to compete after the injury, he kept feuding with Drew McIntyre. But eventually, he went on a hiatus to recover from his injury. Since then, fans have been eagerly looking forward to his return to WWE television.
Much to the surprise of the fans, CM Punk made his return to WWE television during the latest Premium Live Event, Clash at the Castle. In the main event of the PLE, Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest were battling each other for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Punk then ran interference during the match while dressed as a referee. He entered the ring and began counting while McIntyre was trying to pin Priest, but Punk stopped at two. Drew and Punk then came face-to-face and the latter delivered a low blow to The Scottish Warrior.
This helped Damian capitalize on Drew and defeat him to retain the World title. Not to mention, besides McIntyre, almost the entire arena was furious with Punk. This is because Clash at the Castle took place in Glasgow, Scotland, which is Drew McIntyre’s home country, and The Second City Saint made Drew lose in his hometown.
Meanwhile, it seems that besides costing McIntyre his match, The Best in the World also trolled the World Heavyweight Champion, Damian Priest.
CM Punk mocks Damian Priest after Clash at the Castle went off the air
Recently, a footage of CM Punk mocking Damian Priest has come into the spotlight. In that regard, it is to be noted that a botch occurred during the World Heavyweight Championship match, where Priest’s feet were tangled in between the ropes. Despite that, The Judgment Day member scored a victory while limping throughout the match.
As of now, the footage after Clash at the Castle went off air shows Damian walking backstage with his title while limping. As the camera follows Priest, Punk can be seen walking behind him while making fun of the World Heavyweight Champion’s walkout.
This shows that The Best in the World never fails to entertain the fans, even when he’s not inside the squared circle. Also, while Punk previously helped Priest in his match against Drew, he also mocked The Judgment Day member. It is now to be seen if Damian will confront Punk about the matter.
CM Punk opens up on his in-ring return following Clash at the Castle
After his latest appearance at Clash at the Castle PLE, fans are eager to know when CM Punk will make his full-time return to the ring. To answer that, The Second City Saint made an appearance during the post-event press conference.
The Best in the World was then questioned about his in-ring return. To this, Punk said, “I was cleared only for referee duty. I had a hiccup out there but we’ll go back to the lab and reassess. My arm feels amazing, I got permission to skip RAW in Corpus Christi to go back home to Chicago to see my doctors with the idea I’m going to be cleared.”

He continued, “I don’t know if I’m supposed to say that. I think SmackDown’s in Chicago next week, so I’m a RAW guy and skip RAW, get cleared and show up on SmackDown to give everyone the good news, hopefully.”
Thus, CM Punk is yet to get cleared, but it seems his return to the ring might happen sooner rather than later. It is needless to say that Punk would be going face-to-face with McIntyre upon his return. Till then, fans will wait for any updates about their favorite superstar.
