Match number 12 of the UEFA Euro Cup 2024 will witness title contenders Portugal lock horns against Czechia. Portugal will kickstart their opening game as the favorites on the paper but will be wary of the threat that a more than potent Czechia can offer. The game will follow the encounter between the other two teams in the group, Turkiye and Georgia.
Many have put their money on Portugal lifting their second European championship, after their initial success in 2016. Their recent form warrants the claim too, as the Portuguese have scored 49 goals in their 15 fixtures since the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The 2024 UEFA Euros will be the ninth appearance for the national team at the grand stage tournament of Europe.
Czechia, meanwhile, also have been on a splendid run in their latest fixtures. In their last six outings, the country has brought out five victories and a single draw with an aggregate scoreline of 17-5. This will be Czechia’s eighth appearance at UEFA Euros. They have a history to be proud of and carry on in the tournament with a runners-up finish in 1996, as well as reaching the semi-finals once and quarter-finals on two occasions.
