A lot of fighters in the UFC have tattoos all over their body that sooner or later become synonymous with them. Many have got themselves inked with things that signify something important and things that look cool. Such is also the case with rising strawweight contender Polyana Viana.
The UFC has no shortage of fighters with wacky tattoos all over their body. Whether it be Conor McGregor’s iconic gorilla eating a heart tattoo or GSP’s minimal tattoo on his left pec. Polyana is no exception as she also has a bunch of tattoos all over her body.
However, she also has an epic tattoo on her chest that many non-anime fans won’t recognize. The Tattoo design has several anime fans considering Viana as a fanatic. The reason behind it is that the tattoo is a recreation of a famous character from the Japanese anime Naruto.
Polyana has stated that she’s a huge fan of Naruto and loves to cosplay different characters from the anime. Her chest tattoo is the facial recreation of the iconic villain from Naruto known as Pain. He is the leader of a huge criminal organization called Akatsuki, which includes some of the strongest characters in the series.
Despite being a villain, Pain has a different side to him due to his tragic backstory. Apart from being a good design, the Brazilian fighter’s tattoo also has a special meaning to her.
Polyana Viana on her reason for getting a Pain tattoo
Polyana Viana’s chest tattoo has helped her gain a lot of fans from the anime world. The body art itself is iconic due to it being from the cult classic anime Naruto. It resembles the facial structure of Pain, who has committed some heinous crimes throughout the series but has a sad backstory and a kind-hearted side as well.
The strawweight contender even explained in one of her TikTok that she found Pain’s life story very sad and beautiful. Which is why she decided to have it tattooed on her body. The tattoo can be considered her own way of paying tribute to the character and the anime.
Apart from Polyana, Israel Adesanya is another huge fan of anime and also has a Naruto themed tattoo on his body. Viana also likes to cosplay Pain’s character and even requested UFC to let her walk out in a Naruto cosplay multiple times.

However, the UFC has refused every request right away and won’t even allow her to wear a headband from the anime. While the UFC decides what their fighters can and cannot do during their walkouts, many have pointed out that her fellow Naruto fan Israel Adesanya has many times pulled similar gimmicks during his walkouts.
As for her career, Polyana Viana is not having the best time inside the Octagon. She lost to Iasmin Lucino and Gillian Robertson back to back. Her career MMA record currently stands at 13-7 and it will be interesting to see where the Brazilian fighter goes from here. However, her personal life has also been a topic recently due to her closeness to the two-weight UFC champion, Alex Pereira.
