Clash at the Castle 2024, aka Clash at the Castle: Scotland, presented several interesting matches and moments. Meanwhile, fans were looking forward to the Intercontinental Championship match between Sami Zayn and Chad Gable.
For several weeks, Chad Gable has been feuding with Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship. In the process, Gable also humiliated his own Alpha Academy stablemates. He kept taking constant shots at Otis, Maxxine Dupri, and Akira Tozawa.
Finally, Gable and Zayn faced each other at the latest Premium Live Event, Clash at the Castle. During that, Otis and Maxxine Dupri were present at the ringside to support their stablemate. But, towards the end of the match, Gable hit Maxxine by accident.

Otis seemed to have had enough and walked away with Dupri, thus abandoning Gable. This resulted in Zayn capitalizing and defeating Chad to retain the title.
Fans react to Otis walking away from Chad Gable
Otis abandoning his stablemate brought a lot of reaction from the fans. They immediately took their ‘X’ handles to share their thoughts on the matter. One fan wrote, “I’m not gonna lie, Chad Gable, Maxine, and Otis have a fire storyline going.”

Different fans reacted differently to the matter. Some of the fans speculated that the next plan going forward should be a match between Gable and Otis. A fan wrote, “What are they even doing with Chad Gable at this point? Gable vs Otis must be the next plan”. On the other hand, some of the fans stated that instead of Otis walking away, they thought he would hit Chad.
For now, Otis’ walking away with Maxxine Dupri cost Gable a huge match. It now remains to be seen how Chad or the other Alpha Academy members will react to the matter.
What happened during the Intercontinental Championship match at Clash at the Castle 2024?
The Intercontinental Championship match between Chad Gable and Sami Zayn was a highly anticipated match, and fans were waiting to see the outcome of the bout. With that, the match began with both superstars taking each other down.
Gable then took charge and locked in the ankle lock. He then began attacking Sami’s arm. Soon, Zayn gained control and nailed Gable with multiple diving elbows. Chad, however, came with a powerbomb, followed by a flying headbutt.
The superstars kept dominating each other inside the squared circle. Gable then got out of the ring, took Zayn’s title, and handed it over to Maxxine Dupri. He then asked his stablemate to hit Sami with the title. Dupri, however, didn’t listen to Gable, and he looked furious.

Chad then came face-to-face with Maxxine, but Otis came in between. Soon, Gable shifted his focus to Sami and locked in the ankle lock. Zayn gained control and threw Gable, who accidentally hit Dupri.
This made Otis furious, and he got into Gable’s face. Thereafter, Otis carried Maxxine and walked out. On the other hand, inside the ring, Zayn came up with the Helluva Kick for the win. Thus, Sami Zayn defeated Chad Gable to retain the Intercontinental Championship. It would now be interesting to see how the story between the Alpha Academy members unfolds going forward.
