Jonathan Haggerty became a two-sport ONE World Champion at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in
Bangkok, Thailand, this past weekend.
“The General” dispatched bantamweight MMA ruler Fabricio Andrade in the second round of the
ONE Fight Night 16 headliner this past Friday, November 3, to claim the vacant ONE
Bantamweight Kickboxing World Title.
Now, he holds both the kickboxing and Muay Thai straps in the bantamweight division.
Haggerty looked sharp in the opening round as the British superstar landed a series of low
kicks. “Wonder Boy,” on the other hand, grew into the contest and got his kicking game going as
the first stanza ended.
The much-vaunted power shots of Haggerty were the story of the second round, though, as the
The Muay Thai king started backing Andrade up. The 26-year-old landed a head kick midway
through the frame, which wobbled the Brazilian. From there, it was all academic.
Haggerty chased Andrade around the ring as the Brazilian tried desperately to fire back, but
another punch sent him crashing to the canvas and unable to recover.

“The General” now joins a rare company as a two-sport ONE World Champion and was awarded
a US$100,000 performance bonus for his efforts, courtesy of ONE Championship Chairman and
CEO Chatri Sityodtong. Haggerty called out Andrade for his MMA belt soon after.
Tye Ruotolo Captures Inaugural ONE Welterweight Submission Grappling World Title
In the co-main event, Tye Ruotolo overcame an ultra-tough Magomed Abdulkadirov to become
the inaugural ONE Welterweight Submission Grappling World Champion.

After a tense opening, things kicked up a gear when Ruotolo pulled guard and searched for a
fight-ending submission. Ultimately, he would earn a catch for his arm-in guillotine choke
attempt, and he later threw a plethora of submissions at Abdulkadirov, including a modified
buggy choke, a triangle choke, and an armbar.
The 20-year-old’s constant pressure was rewarded by the judges, who unanimously scored the
bout in his favor and anointed the California native as the first-ever ONE Welterweight
Submission Grappling World Champion.
