Jake Peacock has been dreaming of a ONE Championship debut for some time, and this Friday it comes to fruition.
“The One” will take on Japan’s Kohei Shinjo in a bantamweight Muay Thai tilt as part of the blockbuster ONE Friday Fights 58: Superbon vs. Grigorian II card set for Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on April 5.
The English-Canadian star punched his ticket to the global stage with a stunning win at the Road to ONE: Canada tournament in 2023. Looking back at his rise to a contract with the martial arts giant, Peacock revealed that he had manifested his big break four years ago and even hit up ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong.

“From the moment I heard about Road to ONE, I knew I was destined for the world stage. ONE Championship is the world stage,” he said. “What’s funny is that four years ago, I messaged Chatri. I said I would love the honor of fighting for ONE.”
Now, the son of former English Premier League star Gavin Peacock can begin to create his own legacy at a time that is close to his heart.
Jake Peacock hopes to inspire others in ONE Championship debut
Jake Peacock has all the more reason to perform in his ONE debut at ONE Friday Fights 58, given that it is Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness month. The 30-year-old was born with one hand, but he simply sees it as an opportunity to inspire others to reach their full potential.
“I never even like to draw attention to [my limb difference]. I like to keep my head down and just do what I do and be recognized as a great fighter. It’s an amazing opportunity to inspire and encourage people,” he said.

“I knew I was born for the big stage. I was born for the best competition. The thing about me is that I love to entertain. There’s great fighters out there, but there’s not a lot of entertainers – I can fight and I can entertain. That’s what I’m going to do in ONE.”
Peacock has lost only once in his professional career to date, and his passion for Muay Thai sees him immersed in the sport day in, day out, as the owner and head coach of Dunamis Muay Thai in Calgary, Canada.
