Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest headlined the latest Premium Live Event, Clash at the Castle 2024. Towards the end of the match, CM Punk made a surprise return to WWE television and cost McIntyre the match against Priest. The Scottish Warrior then appeared on the following episode of Monday Night RAW to discuss the turn of events at Clash at the Castle.
On the June 17, 2024, episode of WWE RAW, Drew McIntyre walked out and entered the ring. Following that, a ‘CM Punk’ chant broke out. Drew also took Punk’s name but was unable to say anything else. He then stated that he was done with WWE and said, “Screw this company. I quit.”
McIntyre then walked away from the ring. After this took place, fans were eager to know what happened when The Scottish Warrior went backstage. With respect to that, two backstage videos featuring McIntyre have come into the spotlight, but the Stamford-based promotion might not want the fans to see them.
Drew McIntyre’s latest backstage video breaks kayfabe
After Drew McIntyre said he quit RAW, fans became worried about his future. Thereafter, a backstage video came into the spotlight, which showcased the Chief Content Officer of WWE, Triple H, confronting Drew backstage after RAW. But McIntyre refused to listen to HHH and walked away.
RAW General Manager Adam Pearce then followed McIntyre, but he kept walking. Meanwhile, another backstage video has recently come into the spotlight. It shows Adam Pearce trying to have a conversation with The Scottish Warrior, who stopped for a moment and then walked away.

Thereafter, the video showcased Pearce running and going inside a room. The cameraman also entered the room, and he was then greeted by others for doing a great job. Also, Adam Pearce was seen smiling.
It can thus be understood that this behind-the-scenes video broke Kayfabe. While Pearce seemed all tensed and worried moments ago, he was smiling after going inside the room. Henceforth, it might very well be a possibility that McIntyre hasn’t quit WWE, but it was all part of the storyline. Meanwhile, old WWE might not want fans to see the video since breaking kayfabe was not acceptable earlier.
Several WWE legends spoke against the idea of breaking kayfabe
Breaking kayfabe has become quite usual nowadays. Concerning that, many WWE legends spoke against the idea of breaking kayfabe. For instance, WWE legend Vince Russo previously said, “It cracks me up sometimes when you have heels that are doing a really good job, and they are hated as heels, but they want people in real life to know, ‘That’s not really me.”
Apart from Russo, WWE legend The Undertaker also spoke against wrestlers breaking kayfabe. While appearing for an interview, The Deadman said, “Guys always protected their (kayfabe backstory in previous eras). There wasn’t social media and all that stuff going on.”
He added, “It’s driven by social media, just like everything else in our society. It’s difficult for me to watch anything because everyone shares details of their lives online. For example, how can you be this guy on TV and then a completely different person online? So, there is a significant gap for me. I don’t necessarily like it, but it is what it is and that is where we are, so there is nothing I can do about it.”
As of now, the latest backstage video featuring Drew McIntyre has broken kayfabe. It is now to be seen if any of the above-mentioned legends or anyone else will have anything to say about the latest video. Till then, fans will look forward to seeing what awaits Drew McIntyre in the upcoming days.
