Coming from a family of superstar athletes, the revelation of Shelomi Sanders disease came as a shock to everyone. As she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, some might think her career was over before it even began. But that’s absolutely not the case, especially for the youngest kid of Deion Sanders. Before we get on with that, let’s first discuss who exactly is Shelomi Sanders.
Born on December 14, 2003, Shelomi Sanders is the youngest of the legendary Hall of Fame football star and former Major League Baseball player, Deion Sanders’ five children. She is from Deion’s second wife Pilar Sanders and has two older brothers Shilo, 23, and Shedeur, 21.

The oldest, Shilo is a sophomore defensive back from the Tigers in interceptions, while Shedeur is a freshman quarterback, who was also awarded FCS Freshman of the Year when he led Jackson State to their first SWAC title.
Following in the footsteps of her father, she expressed her commitment to the Jackson State women’s basketball. She made a name for herself in the field of baskets and joined the team of Jackson State in 2022.
She kickstarted her basketball career in college by sinking a three-point shot. To which, her proud father Deion wrote on his Instagram, “I’m so PROUD of u baby girl @shelomisanders.”

Deion is also a very protective father of her baby girl, who is nicknamed the “Bossy.” Sanders once shared how Shelomi was on her first day at Jackson State, and joked about her shorts being too short. After all, who is going to do something if her daddy is on campus?
Deion Sanders’ daughter, Shelomi, struggles with diabetes
Deion Sanders’ daughter Shelomi Sanders has never been secretive about her disease. In recent times, she came forward to inspire others by sharing her struggle via social media. She said, “Diabetes takes a toll mentally…you get no days off with this stuff.”
Shelomi also talked about her struggle during an interview with Tiana Cooks. She shared, “It’s hard because it’s just you dealing with all this, but then you have these outside voices like my parents, my brothers, other family members saying you need to do this or that and it’s like, just chill.”

Then again, in a recent video shared by Thee Pregame Show, Deion and Shelomi are seen discussing how they discovered Shelomi’s diabetes. They shared that they suspected something was not right, so they visited the hospital to confirm the diagnosis. But that didn’t stop Shelomi. She stood strong and did not slow down on the basketball court.
