During his school and early college days, Michael Harrison used to play as a wide receiver. However, as the Buffaloes already had enough talented players for the receiver position, Mikey decided to switch positions. The star player now plays as a tight end for the team and has improved as a player even since then.
Harrison played a big role in the Buffaloes’ recent victory against the Colorado State. The team thrashed the Colorado States by 43-35 in a thrilling match. During the game, Michael Harrison recorded 7 receptions for 76 yards. The young talent got 2 touchdowns and had an average of 10.9.
There’s no doubt that the star tight end has been a great addition to the Buffaloes. Keeping his current form in mind, Michael Harrison can be a great prospect for the NFL. The star tight end will surely have several times wanting to draft him.
The transformation of Michael Harrison from being a wide receiver to a tight end has been impressive
Michael Harrison began his football career as a wide receiver, but circumstances led him to be a tight end. However, it proved to be one of the best decisions of his life. The star player’s gameplay has only improved ever since he began playing as the tight end. Buffaloes’ tight end coach Tim Brewster mentioned in an interview that Harrison had “embraced being a tight end”.
“The greatest thing about Mike is that he has totally embraced being a tight end… He’s working extremely hard. He’s doing some really good things, but the process is ongoing, as far as gaining trust,” he said.
Coach Brewster has never failed to express his amazement at how well Michael Harrison has shifted his position. Moreover, he has mentioned that the star player has been excellent during the practice sessions. As per reports, it was Brewster and WR coach Brett Bartolone who gave the idea to Harrison.
However, it was not an easy task for the young star, who played as a WR all his life. Still, the talented athlete decided to embrace the change and do his best. Harrison mentioned in an interview that he tried to have the “best mindset” while changing his position.
“As a player, that’s all you want… I’ve done everything I can just to have the best mindset about doing the position change… I guess you could say the intensity was a little bit higher, but the strength staff does a great job of already keeping (that) intensity on us every day in the summer…,” he said.
It seems like all the hard work Michael Harrison put into the game is finally paying off. The star player has already gained huge recognition at such a young age. Now, fans must be waiting for him to make his NFL debut.
