Kansas City Chiefs threw a parade on Valentine’s Day after winning their second Super Bowl title in a row. However, the joyous occasion soon the turned into a nightmare for the fans after tragic shootings during the rally for the fans of the franchise. Every Chiefs player was present during the rally as well.

On February 14, 2024, their team returned to Kansas for a parade after beating San Francisco 49ers at Super Bowl LVIII. It was only the second Super Bowl game in football history to go to overtime. While 49ers were moments away from winning the entire game, a last minute hail-mary attempt from Patrick Mahomes and Mecole Hardman Jr. got the team the win.

While the entire city was excited to greet the team and cheer them on for the parade, it ultimately went horribly wrong as there were alleged gunshots during the celebrations. According to a report from TMZ, the police have added that that they have apprehended “two armed people.” They are reportedly being “detained” for further investigation. As fans can see the people present on the scene also risked their lives to apprehend one of the alleged shooters.

The shootings have reportedly taken place outside the Union Station after the parade as fans were leaving. One such fan recalled the horror of the incident in an interview afterward.

When he got up, he lost track of where his friends were, and feared for their safety.
He said that Andy Reid hugged him and was trying to comfort him.

He added, “The security guard was like get over the damn fence right now. There’s a shooter. We hop over, I hit my face on accident.” As per the video caption provided by JPAFootball, Chief coach Andy Reid comformed the victim too
Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and several other star were present ahead of the Chiefs’ parade shootings
As previously mentioned, all the major Kansas City Chiefs stars were present during the alleged shooting. It includes the star quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the superstar tight end, Travis Kelce. While Mahomes was seen enjoying the celebrations with his ‘dad bod’ on full display, his wife Brittany Mahomes was carrying the Chiefs flag.
Travis kelce, on the other hand, who got into trouble for yelling and pushing his head coach Andy Reid, was seen chugging a beer with a big cutout of his brother Jason Kelce’s poster. They both seemed to be having a fun time interacting with the fans in the attendance. However, as soon as the gunshots erupted, the police urged the fans to clear the area.

As per an update from Kansas City police, one person has died while at least 10 others have been injured during the whole ordeal. It also being reported that many of the victims were children who went to the parade for a chance to see their favorite stars upfront. At present, there are no further briefs on what actually transpired during the Chiefs’ parade shootings.
