His run with the Washington Redskins was full of injuries and, therefore, could not turn out to be as good as expected. In 2019, his life turned upside down when he was diagnosed with cancer. Recovered from his worst phase, Williams looks ready to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl LVIII.
William arrived in San Francisco in 2020 after warming the bench in the previous season with the Redskins. The 49ers got him from Washington during the 2020 draft for the fifth-round pick and future third-rounder.
Trent Williams fought a hard battle with Cancer
The 49ers star’s battle with cancer and comeback is no less than a legendary tale. In April 2019, Trent Williams was diagnosed with a cancerous growth on his scalp. He had to undergo a surgical procedure in order to remove the growth from his head.
The growth in his head was diagnosed as dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP), which is a type of cancer. The growth was first reported six years ago, in 2013, but Redskins medical staff overlooked it. Upon learning of the medical botch, Trent demanded to be released or traded as per his careless treatment.
The survey Williams had in 2019 included 30% of his scalp, skin grafts from his thighs, and a few hundred stitches. Luckily, he got away without chemotherapy, which could have been worse for him.

Wishing to win the Super Bowl He further said, “It would be like one of those fairy tales”. He explained how it could be something you can only dream about. He said that the feeling is hard to describe as he has never felt it before and added, “But I imagine it would be a memory that we would remember for life.” Williams was overwhelmed with imagining the scenario.
It could be a wonderful comeback story if Williams manages to win the Super Bowl. However, this would not mark the end of his career, as the 35-year-old offensive tackle has plans to continue playing for three more years for the San Francisco 49ers.
