Lamar Demeatrice Jackson Jr., more popularly known as Lamar Jackson, is a quarterback who plays for the National Football League (NFL) team, the Baltimore Ravens. He played college football for the Louisville Cardinals football team (University of Louisville). Jackson was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft as the 32nd overall pick.
Lamar Jackson is a crucial part of the Baltimore Ravens team and is essential for their success. In his five years with the franchise so far, he already has two Pro Bowl honors and one First-Team All-Pro honor. He was named the NFL Most Valuable Player in 2019. Hence, it is understandable that his absence from the starting lineup is a huge loss for the team.
The Baltimore Ravens got a huge scare when it was reported that Lamar Jackson was absent from the team’s practice session on December 7th, 2023. Jackson has been fit throughout the year and has not missed a single session before Thursday. Thereby, it was concerning news given that the Baltimore Ravens will be up against the Los Angeles Rams in an important fixture on Sunday, December 10th, 2023.
Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh has now confirmed that Lamar Jackson is fit and raring to go on Sunday. “He was feeling good and full of life,” Harbaugh said. “He looked good out there; he was back, and he’s recovered.”
Harbaugh confirmed that Lamar Jackson was now “fully recovered” after missing out due to illness, and there is no more reason for concern. The only player missing from Friday’s practice (December 8th) was wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. However, that absence can be due to a veteran day off.
Lamar Jackson missed practice due to an undisclosed illness
There was a significant cause for concern surrounding Lamar Jackson’s absence due to two reasons. Firstly, Jackson has not missed a single practice day this season, so it was odd to see him suddenly not there. The second reason is that there was no previous injury update on Jackson as well.

Furthermore, Jackson was not placed on the injured list on Wednesday. Lamar Jackson’s illness has not yet been disclosed, and the medical staff have not revealed anything as well. Another Ravens player who was absent due to illness was wide receiver Rashod Bateman.
The Baltimore Ravens have Tyler Huntley as their backup quarterback. While Huntley is definitely a good alternative, he is nowhere close to the impact Lamar Jackson brings in. They will be up against the Los Angeles Rams at home (M&T Stadium) on Sunday in the Week 14 matchup.
