Veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers keeps making headlines every now and then. Sometimes it’s for his love life and sometimes it’s for his performance in the NFL. Recently, the 39-year-old star player grabbed the spotlight after calling Travis Kelce “Mr. Pfizer”. However, the Chiefs star has now responded to Rodgers’ comments.
During a recent interview, Travis Kelce finally got to address the Mr. Pfizer controversy. ESPN’s reporter Adam Schefter recently posted a video of the same on X. In the video, the 34-year-old tight end light-heartedly talked about the comments by Aaron Rodgers. The star player called the nickname “pretty good”, and said that it suits him.
“I thought it was pretty good. With the mustache, I look like someone named Mr. Pfizer. Who knew I’d get into vax wars with Aaron Rodgers, man? Mr. Pfizer against the Johnson and Johnson family over there,” he said.

It’s obvious that the California-born QB’s comments didn’t affect Kelce at all. Born in October 1989, the Chiefs star made it clear that his support for vaccines is still the same. He mentioned that he finds the vaccine useful as it keeps him and his family “safe”. Unlike Aaron Rodgers, Travis Kelce has trust in the vaccines and that’s why he promotes them. Moreover, he mentioned that he’s “1000% fully comfortable” with the nickname.
The 6-foot-5 tight end couldn’t have handled the situation more maturely. He replied to the Jets star Aaron Rodgers in an amazing manner. However, it’s worth noting that besides this controversy, Kelce and Rodgers share a great bond.
Why did Aaron Rodgers call Travis Kelce “Mr. Pfizer”?
Aaron Rodgers recently appeared on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ after his team’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The 1st round pick of the Jets was talking about the game and Travis Kelce’s performance in it. Rodgers referred to Travis Kelce as “Mr. Pfizer” in between the conversation. The hosts of the show laughed at it, but the QB had quite a serious face on.
The former Green Bay Packers gave Kelce the nickname because of the tight end’s recent commercial. The boyfriend of Taylor Swift has collaborated with Pfizer to promote its COVID-19 vaccines. He shared a commercial video of the same on his Instagram to motivate people to take it. Aaron Rodgers probably didn’t like this as he has always opposed such vaccines.
The Super Bowl winner earlier received criticism after he lied about his vaccine status. At first, he mentioned that he was fully vaccinated. However, he himself eventually revealed that he didn’t take the vaccine and was even COVID-19 positive. Aaron Rodgers is more into psychedelics than vaccines and he has made it clear several times.
Presently, the 4-time NFL MVP is out of the NFL with his Achilles tendon injury. In his absence, star quarterback Zach Wilson has been starting for the team. However, the team is still praying for him to get well soon and make a powerful comeback.
