The Colorado Buffaloes are probably one of the best teams in college football presently. The team has been performing quite recently, and the credit for it goes to their coach Deion Sanders. Born in August 1967, the former NFL star keeps gaining the spotlight for his team and son Shedeur’s performance. However, recently he has been in the news for an interesting reason.
The Buffaloes lost their previous game against the USC Trojans on September 30. The 21-year-old Caleb Williams recorded 6 touchdowns for 403 passing yards. His stellar performance led the Trojans to a 48-41 win. Coach Deion and his team had to face disappointment in the game on-field. However, off the field, it was the opposite situation.

During the game, Coach Prime’s fiancee Tracey Edmonds was present to cheer for the Buffaloes. However, she wasn’t alone as 56-year-old Sanders’ ex-wife Carolyn Chambers was there to accompany her. Normally, it wouldn’t have been a tense situation having someone’s past and present being together. However, things were quite amicable between Edmonds and Chambers.
The girlfriend of Deion Sanders posted a story on Instagram expressing her love for Carolyn Chambers. The story had a photo of Edmonds and the ex-wife of the NFL legend standing together. Carolyn soon reposted the story on her account and wrote, “It’s always ALL LOVE with beauty”.
The picture of Edmonds and the mother of Deion Sanders Jr. gave nothing but positive vibes. The two ladies of the Colorado coach’s life seem to get along quite well. In fact, Carolyn’s message shows that it wasn’t the first time they were together. It rather signifies that the two share a great relationship despite being the past and present of Sanders.
Why did Deion Sanders and Carolyn Chambers get divorced?
Deion Sanders and Carolyn Chambers had been dating for a year before getting married in September 1989. Born in April 1971, Carolyn is a tax professional and was married to the father of Shedeur Sanders for 9 years. The former Baltimore Ravens cornerback and Chambers have two kids together: Deion and Deiondra Sanders.
Just 3 days after their 7th wedding anniversary, Carolyn reportedly filed for divorce in 1996. However, soon the duo decided to give each other another chance. The next year, they again filed for divorce and their marriage ended in 1998 after 9 years. Reports, at that time, suggested that there were some “unresolved issues” which led to their separation. Some rumors even suggested that the Buffaloes HC had an extramarital affair.
After the divorce, 52-year-old Chambers got custody of her kids. However, Deion Sanders was allowed to meet them whenever he wanted. The 2-time Super Bowl winner once revealed that he even tried to commit suicide after losing the custody battle. However, things are not better between him and his ex-wife now.
Deion Sanders married Pilar Sanders a year after his divorce from Carolyn Chambers and they had three kids together before getting divorced in 2013. Now, Coach Prime is with TV producer Tracey Edmonds. The two have been dating since 2012 and got engaged in 2019. Presently, the Colorado Coach and Edmonds have been enjoying life together.
