Jaren Hall is a quarterback who plays for the National Football League (NFL) team, the Minnesota Vikings. Hall played college football for the Brigham Young University (BYU) Cougars football team. He was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft as the 164th overall pick.
The Vikings had a great setback to them last week with starting quarterback Kirk Cousins facing a season ending injury. And this meant rookie quarterback Jaren Hall would be taking center stage for them against the Atlanta Falcons. However Hall met with goal line concussion which cut his game short.
In his first start of the season, Jaren Hall had a night to forget. During a broken third-down play, Jaren Hall tried to make his way into the end zone. Atlanta Falcons‘ cornerback Jeff Okudah and linebacker Kaden Elliss took Jaren Hall down with a brutal hit before he could cross the goal line. Hall’s helmet hit the turf pretty hard and he suffered a concussion as medical staff rushed to the field.
It is a pity Jaren Hall had to suffer this injury as he was having a decent game. Hall had completed 5 out of his 6 pass attempts for 78 yards. Needless to say fans were outraged to see this and wished the young man a speedy recovery. Some got so angry that they threatened the Falcons’ players!
Arizona Cardinals man Josh Dobbs to step up in place of Jaren Hall
After starting quarterback Kirk Cousins suffered an Achilles heel injury which ended his season, the Minnesota Vikings brought in former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Josh Dobbs. The Vikings brought in Josh Dobbs in a trade deal on Tuesday. After Jaren Hall’s injury, it looks like Dobbs will be the man for the Vikings.

Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell is a big fan of Dobbs and feels he has a great skillset. “I’ve always been a fan of the combination of his skillset, from a standpoint of being able to provide some athleticism, make some plays in the pocket and outside the pocket,” O’Connell said. “I think he’s a very intelligent guy which gives us the opportunity to get him in here, in a short amount of time, and try to prepare him for any snaps, when that may occur.”
The Vikings traded a sixth round pick in 2024 for Josh Dobbs and a seventh round pick with the Arizona Cardinals. The deal was completed with just two hours left on the trade deadline. Dobbs has a career passing percentage of 61.8% with 2,025 passing yards and 11 touchdowns for 8 interceptions.
