College football can be as intriguing as the big football leagues at times. All the young players and their coaches give their best to lead their respective teams to victory. The same passion was visible in Ohio State’s coach Ryan Day recently after the game against Notre Dame. The match was nothing less than a thrilling adventure. However, it was Coach Day’s post-match interview that grabbed the limelight.
In the game against Notre Dame, Ohio State came out victorious by 17-14. The last-second win was enough to make Buckeyes coach Ryan Day happy. During the post-match interview, he hit back at all the trolls of the team. Day gave a savage reply to people including Notre Dame’s HC Lou Holtz. It’s worth noting that Holtz was one of the people who doubted the team’s toughness.

“I’d like to know where Lou Holtz is right now… What he said about our team… I cannot believe. This is a tough team right here. We’re proud to be from Ohio and it’s always been Ohio against the world. And it will continue to be Ohio against the world. But I tell you: I love those kids and we have a tough team,” he said.
Ryan Day made it clear that he is highly “upset” with Holtz’s comments. The proud coach mentioned how people are “questioning” the young players because of a few bad months. Day referred to the Ohio State players as “warriors” and expressed his love for them. He further added that after people attacked his family, it was important “to come in and win”.
It’s quite obvious that the coach was thrilled with Ohio State’s performance. Ryan Day made it clear that he’s not going to tolerate any wrong words against the team.
What did Lou Holtz say about Ohio State Football?
After Ohio State’s win over Notre Dame, Lou Holtz must be the most embarrassed person. He is the head coach of Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the former assistant of Ohio State. Before the match against the Ohio State Buckeyes, Holtz made some strong claims about Ryan Day and his team.
Lou Holtz recently appeared on The Pat McAfee Show. There, he claimed that “Notre Dame is a better football team than Ohio State,”. He further bragged about how the Buckeyes won the National Championship when he was with them. Along with that, the Fighting Irish coach went on criticizing Ryan Day and his coaching.

“You look at coach (Ryan) Day — and I coached at Ohio State under Woody Hayes… We won the national championship when I was there. I’m proud of that. However, he has lost to Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Michigan twice. And everybody (that) beats him, does so because they are more physical than Ohio State. And I think Notre Dame will take that same approach,” he said.
However, Ohio State and Ryan Day proved that they are a strong team. The team was up 10-0 against Notre Dame in the third quarter. But, the Irish made a big comeback and went ahead 14-10 with 8 minutes and 22 seconds left to play. However, the Buckeyes didn’t lose hope and won the game with just 1 second remaining.
Day’s team must be celebrating their victory which led them to a 4-0 record for the year. Lou Holtz, on the other hand, must be disappointed as his team’s record dropped to 4-1. Now, it’ll be interesting to see if the Buckeyes continue this winning streak or not.
