The Las Vegas Raiders are having a bad time this NFL season. This recently led the team’s owner, Mark Davis, to fire the former head coach, Josh McDaniels. Now, the team is playing under interim coach Antonio Pierce. This whole situation must have been difficult for the Raiders, and Tom Brady just gave fans a sneak peek into it.
Born in August 1977, Tom Brady recently talked about the Raiders on his podcast ‘Let’s Go’. The star quarterback was talking about how it affects a team when a player or coach exits. It’s worth noting that Brady has known McDaniels for years. That’s because he served as the offensive coordinator for the New England Patriots when the QB was with them.
The 46-year-old NFL legend went on to mention that everyone has to “adapt” to the changes in a team and “move on”. However, at the same time, he said that the changes don’t straightforwardly solve the “problems”. Tom Brady compared a player or coach leaving to the exit of a family member.
“You got to be able to adapt and adjust and move on and the people that stepped in in their place, they got to go out and they got to put… It’s not like all the problems get solved when something like that happens… When a player leaves, coach gets fired, something happens to a family member and you got to adjust in your personal life,” he said.
After what Tom Brady said, it seems like the Raiders are trying to adapt to changes in the team. It’s worth noting that, along with McDaniels, the team fired their general manager, Dave Ziegler, as well. For now, Pierce is serving as the interim head coach, and Champ Kelly will be the team’s general manager until this season.
Does Tom Brady own the Las Vegas Raiders?
Tom Brady talking about the Raiders shows that the 225 lb QB is keeping a tab on the team. The main reason behind it is that the Hall of Famer shares an important connection with the team. Brady, born in California, is looking forward to buying a minority stake in the Raiders. As for ownership, Mark Davis has major ownership of the team.
The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers star is a good friend of Davis. Moreover, Brady already holds minority ownership of the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces. Now, the star player wishes to invest in the NFL team as well. Reports suggest that the share of Tom Brady in the Raiders will be something around 5 to 10%.
Tom Brady wants to buy 10% of the #Raiders for $175M. That would value the Raiders at $1.75B. There is no way the other owners are going to allow this.. This also tells you how much of a loss Mark Davis is willing to take to add Tom Brady to the group. I’d say it’s a smart move. https://t.co/Xuts0f06Uz

Tom Brady would have already become the minority owner of the team, but the NFL came up with new rules. As per those rules, only the family members of the owner can have equity shares in a team. This further became an obstacle in the way of the QB’s dreams to acquire shares of the Raiders.
However, despite all this, Tom Brady has been supporting the Raiders. He even attended the team’s game to show his support. Now, only time will tell if the 7-time Super Bowl winner becomes an official stakeholder in the Raiders or not.
