The NFL 2023 has only reached its 4th week and fans have already witnessed so many injuries. Several renowned players have already been out for the whole season. Now, the most recent player to join the list of injured players is Kenny Pickett. The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback left the field after sustaining an injury during the team’s previous game.
Born in June 1998, Kenny Pickett suffered a knee injury while playing against the Houston Texans. It happened during the 3rd quarter of the game that took place on October 1. Before the injury, the NFL star got 1 interception for 114 passing yards. He completed 15 out of the 23 passing attempts he made during the game.
Steelers’ 29-year-old backup QB Mitch Trubisky replaced the injured Kenny Pickett for the rest of the game. The Steelers were gaining momentum but then they lost their quarterback. Eventually, the Houston Texans ended up victorious after thrashing the Steelers by 30-6. Texans QB CJ Stroud turned out to be the hero of the game.

After the game, the team’s HC Mike Timeline didn’t have any specific updates on Kenny Pickett. He just mentioned that the 6-foot-3 player was going through tests. However, the team’s RB expressed his sadness at losing their starting quarterback.
“It sucks… Obviously, we have depth at the quarterback position, but to see our starter go down like that, it sucks, but that’s part of our game,” he said.
The Steelers haven’t yet shared any updates on the injury Kenny Pickett sustained. However, the team must be hoping for him to recover and be back to the gridiron soon. From what it seems, the QB will at least miss a few games now.
What happened to Kenny Pickett during the game against the Houston Texans?
Kenny Pickett was doing great this season before he suffered the knee injury against the Texans. The Steelers QB got 4 touchdowns for 689 yards this NFL season. However, now it seems that he’ll be out for a few games. The 25-year-old star fell to the ground after defensive end Jonathan Greenard sacked him. Pickett held his knee tightly as he appeared to be deep in pain.
After that, the trainers came to the field to check on the Steelers’ 20th pick. The injury is probably not that bad as Kenny Pickett was still able to walk. However, it was serious enough to make him limp while going out of the field in the middle of the game.

It’s worth noting that this is not the first time Kenny Pickett, 220 lb, has suffered from an injury. Last year, the QB suffered from a head concussion (Grade 1) while playing against the Buccaneers. In Week 14 of last season, he suffered from yet again concussion against the Ravens.
The injury he sustained is probably not too serious to rule him out of the whole season. However, the Steelers must be praying for him to recover soon. If Pickett misses a lot of games, it might put the team in a bad situation. For now, everyone is waiting for updates on the star player’s injury.
