American football is one of the oldest sports in United States and the world. The game was started on November 6, 1869. After 50 years of the invention of American football, in 1920, ten football franchises together formed the American Professional Football League, which is currently known as the NFL.

1. Washington Redskins vs New York Giants, 1966
Washington Redskins vs. New York Giants is the highest-scoring game American football fans ever witnessed. A total of 113 points were scored by combining the points of two teams.
The game was played at the D.C. Stadium on November 27, 1966. The Redskins won the fixtures with a score line of 72-41. Since then, fans have yet to witness a game of more than 110 plus points in the league.
2. Cincinnati Bengals vs. Cleveland Browns, 2004
Since 1966, NFL fans watched another 100-plus score game on November 28, 2004. The game took place at Paul Brown Stadium, and a total of 106 points were scored.
The Cincinnati Bengals scored 58 points, and the Cleveland Browns scored 48 points. Both teams put on a great performance, but in the end, the Battle of Ohio was won by the Bengals with a 10-point margin.
3. Los Angeles Rams vs Kansas City Chiefs, 2018
Finally, after waiting for 14 years, on November 19, 2018, another highest-scoring game was played in the NFL. This is the third most highest scoring fixture in the league. In that match, a total of 105 points were scored, which was just one less than the fixture against Bengals and Browns in 2004.
At the end of the match, the Los Angeles Rams defeated the City Chiefs with a score line of 54-51. This high-scoring fixture took place at the LA Memorial Coliseum.
4. Oakland Raiders vs Houston Oilers, 1963
Back on December 22, 1963, two well-known NFL sides, the Oakland Raiders and Houston Oilers, played an outstanding 101-point fixture. This 100-plus score game was played at Frank Youell Field Stadium.
The Oakland Raiders scored 52 points, and the Houston Oilers scored 49 points at the end of full-time. In this fixture, the home side ended their season with 6-1-0 and the away side with 2-5-0.
5. New Orleans Saints vs New York Giants, 2015
The fixture was played at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome stadium on November 1, 2015 and is the repeat telecast of Raiders and Oilers in 1963. The stadium is regarded as one of the best stadiums in the nation. The New Orleans Saints and New York Giants played out a 101-point game, which is the fourth highest-scoring game in NFL history.
The Giants defeated the Orleans Saints with a 52-49 score. Both the teams put in great effort, and till the last minute, it was unclear who would get the victory. However, the away side was slightly better than the hosts and took away a fine margin victory.
