Patrick Mahomes is one of the best players in the NFL and is arguably considered the heir of the all-time American great Tom Brady. The recently retired American NFL superstar Tom Brady has reached the pinnacle of success during his playing career.
The quarterback is an inspiration to many young talents. Matching Brady’s success is a dream of many players. Many top talents, such as Patrick Mahomes, have the potential to be legends of the game. Many believe Kansas City Chief’s quarterback has the caliber and skills to equalize Brady’s legacy.

Patrick’s stats also reflect why he is considered the predecessor of the ex-New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers player. At the age of 28, the Kansas City Chiefs man has already become two-time champions of the Super Bowl and won two Super Bowl MVPs.
Besides that, he also bagged NFL Most Valuable Player of the Year twice in 2018 and 2020. However, reaching the legacy of Brady is never an easy task, and recently, Jason Whitlock made a statement on what is lacking in Mahomes to get the legacy of his fellow countrymen.
Jason Whitlock identifies Patrick Mahomes’ missing expertise
The QB of the Kansas City Chiefs is regarded as one of the best in the game. Mahomes has played a crucial role in his team since joining the franchise in 2017 and enjoyed great success there.
Some notable awards achieved by the man from Texas are the Bert Bell Award in 2018 and the Sammy Baugh Trophy in 2016. However, Whitlock believes Mahomes can’t become Brady’s perfect heir.
As in a statement, sports commentator Jason Whitlock made a bomb-blasting affirmation that “He doesn’t have a Tom Brady drive”. In the blink of an eye, Jason’s statement went viral and gave birth to a new controversy.
He (Mahomes) does not have Tom Brady’s drive. Winning is not as important for him as it was for Tom Brady, and some of that may have to do with Mahomes being a first round pick. pic.twitter.com/6vz91n5Jjc

In a YouTube video, the commentator from the United States said, “But he does not have Tom Brady’s drive. If winning is as important to him as it was for Tom Brady, and some of that probably has to do with Mahomes as a first-round pick”.
He also added “The Chiefs went up to get him, I think he was in the top 10 in the draft, Tom Brady, a six-round pick in the draft, had always had that chip on his shoulder. And so I just think the Chiefs and Mahomes are a bit satisfied”.
Besides this, he continues by saying that Tom used to compete with players like Peyton Manning, but Patrick has no such competitor like him. Therefore, he believes this absence is the most crucial thing that stopped Kansas City’s quarterback from reaching Brady’s level.
