SUMMARY
- Lamar Jackson and the Ravens lost against the Chiefs 10-17 in the AFC Championship game.
- Jackson currently has a 2-4 record in the playoffs.
Considering everything Lamar Jackson has put himself through to get the Baltimore Ravens to the American Football Conference Finals, their loss was gut-wrenching. The game’s final score topped at 10-17 in favor of the Kansas City Chiefs, who will be making their third Super Bowl appearance in five years. However, the Ravens’ run immediately reminded NBA Fans about a certain group.
NBA Fans immediately began comparing Jackson and the Ravens to Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers. The Sixers have made back-to-back second-round exits over the last couple of seasons despite Embiid making strong cases for the MVP Award. One fan said, “Literally the same player I’m crying.” Another fan said, “Embiid can’t make the conference finals lmao.”

Much like the Sixers, the Ravens have also made a couple of conference and divisional finals appearances. However, they’ve never gone the distance ever since Lamar Jackson came into the picture. The Ravens last made a Super Bowl appearance in 2013, five years before Jackson was drafted into the league. Impressively, the Ravens managed to win the Super Bowl that year as well.
Lamar Jackson held his head high despite the Ravens’ unfortunate championship game loss
Lamar Jackson worked out an MVP-caliber season this year while making his first American Football Conference Finals appearance. However, Jackson has a 2-4 record in the playoffs which is quite unfortunate. The Ravens also managed to maintain the best record in the AFC. But during this game. Jackson was not the top player he was throughout the season. After the championship loss, he claimed that he was without how things were during the game.

“We’re mad. Offense, we didn’t put nothing on the board. We scored once. That’s not like us. We drove the ball down the field. That’s cool. But we got to put points on the board. But I feel like my team just angry, not frustrated, we just angry. We know how hard we worked to get here,” Lamar said.
Lamar Jackson seemed confident that the Ravens would bounce back and work harder during the off-season. Jackson remains the top candidate to win this year’s MVP Award. He has recorded 3,678 yards with a 67.2% completion rate. Offensively, the Ravens were dominant throughout the season, unlike their performance during the AFC Championship game.
