The wait for this year’s Madden ratings got over when EA Sports released the Madden 24 ratings last month. Every NFL fan was excited to see who’d top the list, and unsurprisingly, it was Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes. There are many players whose ratings needed some attention, and Kirk Cousins and Josh Allen are two among them.
The Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen got a Madden 24 rating of 94, making him the third-highest-rated player. The Minnesota Vikings star Kirk Cousins’ rating, on the other hand, was 84, putting him at no. 09 overall. The 10-point difference between the two quarterbacks is what made a huge impact.

Cousins has been undeniably outstanding ever since his NFL debut in 2012 with the Washington Redskins. Last season, the star player created waves with his performance for the Minnesota Vikings. He recorded 4547 passing yards in 2022, with 29 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. Cousins started all the games for the Vikings last year and helped the team have a 13-4 record.
Josh Allen, on the other hand, has become the center of attraction in his career of 5 years since his 2018 debut. Last year, the quarterback recorded more than 4000 passing yards for the third consecutive season. He also recorded more than 35 rushing TDs and over 6 rushing TDs. His performance further helped the Bills claim their third consecutive AFC East Division title.
Considering the last season’s performance of Josh Allen, and his contribution to the Bills, his Madden 24 ratings is justifiable. There’s no doubt that Cousins is impressive, but Allen is even better.
Comparing the salaries of Josh Allen and Kirk Cousins
Both Kirk Cousins and Josh Allen will make a good amount of money this year with their respective teams. But, just like the Madden 24 ratings, the Bills quarterback is ahead of Cousins in this case as well. In fact, there’s a huge difference between the salaries the two stars will get in 2023.
When the “Quarterback” star joined the Vikings in 2018, he signed a 3-year contract with the team worth $84 million. After that, he signed a $66 million contract extension with the team for two years in 2020. Now, Cousins reportedly restructured his contract with the Vikings in March this year. As per the contract, he can now make up to $80 million with $25 million guaranteed.
As for Josh Allen, he signed a 4-year deal with the Buffalo Bills, in his NFL rookie year. It was a fully guaranteed $21 million contract with an average yearly salary of $5.3 million. However, his salary saw a huge growth after 2020. That year, he signed a $258 million contract extension with the Bills. It was a 6-year contract with $150 million guaranteed and an average salary of $43 million.
It’s quite obvious that Josh Allen will make much more than Kirk Cousins this year. Though the Bills’ star player started slow, he has made a reputation for himself. Kirk Cousins, on the other hand, is going steady with his career and earnings.
