The NFL has many young talents and Travis Etienne is one of them. The 24-year-old running back has been phenomenal ever since he entered the league. Apart from him, there’s yet another Etienne- Trevor Etienne. Coincidentally, both of them are running backs and people wonder if the two are related or not.
Born in January 1999, Travis Etienne has established himself as a great RB in the NFL. Trevor Etienne, on the other hand, has been taking college football by storm. Both of them undoubtedly possess exceptional skills and have the same surname. The reason behind this is that the two players are brothers.
It’s worth noting that Trevor Etienne is the younger brother of the Jacksonville Jaguars star. The Etienne brothers are not just great players but share an excellent bond as well. In 2022, Travis Etienne talked about the advice he gave to his younger brother. He revealed how he doesn’t want Trevor to be “patient”.
“I’ve never told him to be patient… The message is, ‘You’re going there to compete for a spot. Show the coaches what you’ve got, and let them make the decision’,” he said.
While Travis Etienne is exhibiting his skills in the NFL, 19-year-old Trevor is preparing for it in college. The Florida Gators RB will surely be a great prospect in the NFL draft. Considering Trevor’s performance, fans might soon get to see the Etienne brothers playing in the league at the same time.
Travis Etienne and Trevor Etienne played for different colleges
The Etienne brothers have been passionate about football since their childhood. Both of them decided to pursue careers in the same sport. Travis Etienne and Trevor Etienne play the same position as well (running back). However, the two decided to make a change while choosing their colleges and played for different colleges.

After playing for Jennings High School, Travis went to Clemson University. There, the 5-foot-10 RB played for the Clemson Tigers for 4 years. Throughout his college career, he had 686 attempts and 70 TDs for 4,952 rushing yards. He also had 102 receptions and 8 TDs for 1,155 receiving yards. With his exceptional performance, Travis Etienne became the ACC Player of the Year for 2 consecutive years.
As for Trevor Etienne, he also attended Jennings High School like his elder brother. However, when it came to college, he opted to go to the University of Florida. The 213 lb player has been playing for the Florida Gators since last year. During an interview, Trevor revealed why he didn’t attend his brother’s college.
“It’s just something new… It’s something new I get to experience and somewhere I can see myself for the next three to four years of my life,” he said.
Till now, the younger brother of the NFL star has been phenomenal for the Gators. He has 239 attempts and 14 touchdowns for 1,429 rushing yards. Along with that, Trevor also has 27 receptions and 1 touchdown for 239 receiving yards. Now, it’ll be interesting to see if he will also be a first-round pick like Travis Etienne or not.
