WWE has been red hot in the last few weeks due to the kind of product they’ve served. From Dwayne Johnson’s return to John Cena coming back for a full-fledged run, fans have been loving everything. But what they are concerned about is what the future holds for their favorite LA Knight.
As the promotion’s Payback event is now just weeks away, the fans are trying to figure out what LA will be doing at the show. But now it seems that the answer to this question has finally been given, as it’s been reported that the 40-year-old could be fighting in a high-profile match.

If recent reports are to be believed, the SmackDown star could be helping John Cena at the PLE. The Cenation Leader is set to fight against the team of Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa at Payback, and LA could be Cena’s partner for the match.
Saying that this team up isn’t the best decision for Knight, an audience member said, “Big mistake, dude can’t wrestle! And you know John is going to overshadow it anyway.” “I’m not interested,” another fan wrote while sharing his distaste for the rumored match. ( Via: X)
Initially, AJ Styles was the one who was going to team up with the 16-time WWE Champion, but his injury took him out, and John was left without a teammate. Now that LA is expected to be Cena’s partner for his match, it’ll be interesting to see how they’ll tackle their opponents.
LA Knight is reportedly suffering from a serious health issue
While it’s been reported that the plan is for Knight to team up with John Cena at Payback, it’ll probably be subjected to his health as well. As revealed after SmackDown, LA is currently suffering from a serious health disease, which might take him away from WWE TV for some time.
The reports of the fan-loved performer’s health problem came out following his absence from last Friday’s show. After the 2-hour show, it was revealed that Knight had tested positive for COVID before the September 22 SmackDown episode.

Additionally, it was also reported that he was supposed to make an appearance during the show’s main event segment. As the main event was the contract signing of Cena and his Payback opponents match, LA was listed to come out and help The Cenation Leader.
However, all the plans had to be scrapped after Knight’s COVID reports came out to be positive. With the SmackDown star being believed to be Cena’s partner at the PLE, he’ll firstly need to recover from the disease. It also remains to be seen when WWE will announce the fan-favorite star’s participation at their Payback event.
