With Fastlane hardly a fortnight away, John Cena and AJ Styles vs. Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso was the only event confirmed for the PLE. However, the recent episode of Friday Night SmackDown puts this one match in jeopardy. The Bloodline members went on a haul to thrash both Styles and Cena, putting the former on a stretcher.
AJ Styles is rumored to have been put in an ambulance to swap John Cena’s tag team partner. Reports also claimed that LA Knight was the man to help Cena at SmackDown today, had he not been tested positive for COVID-19. However, this couldn’t diminish the excitement of the fans, who pitched in another partner for John Cena.

In a post by WWE on Instagram, the fans ruled the comment section, demanding Randy Orton to make his WWE return. “I wish Cena’s partner will be Randy Orton,” said one fan. Many others followed making the same demand to the authority. We’ll have to wait and see what follows next for the Leader of the Cenation in WWE.
Is Randy Orton returning to WWE at Fastlane?
Randy Orton has been away from the WWE ring since May 2022. His back surgery has been a success and it appears that he is ready to make an in-ring appearance. The Viper was recently spotted at WWE’s Performance Centre in Florida, making the possibility of his return even higher.

Despite going through surgery, Orton seems to be in perfect shape. With this being said, it is easy for him to get back to work after a brief training period. Randy Orton and John Cena share a great bond of rivalry and friendship. With John Cena currently without a partner, Orton may prove to be the best pick to take on Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso at the upcoming PLE.
WWE wanted to pair LA Knight with John Cena for Fastlane
While fans have pitched in names such as Randy Orton and The Rock to pair up with John Cena, WWE had other plans. As per Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Wrestling, “LA Knight was listed as being involved in tonight’s contract signing.” He further revealed that Knight was all set to help Cena when Solo and Jimmy thrashed him.
As many fans had expected, LA Knight would have served as Cena’s Fastlane partner. However, before SmackDown could kick off, Knight tested positive for COVID, thus sidelining him for an undeclared period of time. A lot awaits the WWE Universe in the following weeks as Cena’s Fastlane partner gets unveiled.
