Charissa Thompson confirms that she makes up reports during NFL games
Speaking about the issue, Charissa Thompson has confirmed that she would in fact make up reports at times while reporting on the sidelines. Thompson said she would do this during halftime when the coach of the concerned team wouldn’t be available to make a statement. She says that due to this, she would go ahead and make a report.
“I’ve said this before, so I haven’t been fired for saying it, but I’ll say it again. I would make up the report sometimes,” Thompson said. “Because, A, the coach wouldn’t come out at halftime, or it was too late, and… I didn’t want to screw up the report, so I was like, ‘I’m just going to make this up.’”

As a justification, Thompson said she did not fabricate anything but only reported the obvious. She said that it wouldn’t be wrong to point out what everyone was noticing. Furthermore, she said that it wouldn’t make the coaches angry.
“First of all, no coach is going to get mad if I say, ‘Hey, we need to stop hurting ourselves, we need to be better on third down, we need to stop turning the ball over… and do a better job of getting off the field.’ Like, they’re not going to correct me on that.”
This interview was given by Charissa Thompson when she appeared on the Barstool Sports podcast called “Pardon My Take“. The podcast is hosted by Dan “Big Cat” Katz and Eric Sollenberger (known by the nickname “PFT Commenter”). Thompson has issued a public apology since then and said she didn’t choose her words properly.
