Anthony Davis displayed a remarkably focused mindset after his most recent performance for the Los Angeles Lakers. As many NBA fans might have heard by now, the Los Angeles Lakers managed to win the new In-Season tournament by defeating the Indiana Pacers.
To those who do not know, the In-Season tournament was a new concept introduced by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver. Considering that winning the tournament would mean being awarded a trophy, MVP award, and prize money, the 30 teams across the league undoubtedly had a lot to play for.
Led by LeBron and AD, the Lakers were the last team left standing and are now the first-ever In-Season tournament winners. Although one might assume that Davis was in high sports after winning, that might not be completely true. With that being said, let us take a closer look and find out more.Anthony Davis is focused on winning an NBA title
One could argue that AD had one of his best games of the season, or even his career, at the In-Season Finals matchup against the Indiana Pacers. Davis finished the night with a game-high 41 points, 20 rebounds and 5 assists. His monster double-double undoubtedly played an instrumental role in helping the Lakers defeat the Pacers. After the game had ended, Davis was interviewed and asked to share his thoughts.
“First to do it, first team to win it. We know it’s not the real thing but you know, we keep taking steps in the right direction.”

Despite the fact that AD helped make NBA history, he understands that winning this tournament is almost negligible when compared to winning another NBA championship. The Lakers managed to win an NBA title in 2020. However, they haven’t come very close to doing so since then.
Anthony Davis continues to be a polarizing figure among fans. When healthy and motivated, he is most certainly one of the best players in the world. His 40-point 20 rebound double-double is a testament to the same. We wonder if he and the Lakers will be able to continue this newfound momentum onto the regular season and even hopefully the postseason. In any case, they are undoubtedly taking steps forward in the right direction.
