UFC Vegas 70 was an exciting fight card on paper. From heavyweight slugger Augusto Sakai to the return of Tatiana Suarez, fans had a lot to look forward to. Krylov occupied the 6th rank in the light heavyweight division. Ryan Spann also was a top 10 fighter in the division. Hence, the winner was going to be in a good position in the weight class. But, most importantly, it was going to be an excellent fight between two amazingly talented fighters. Hence, the fans will definitely be disappointed about the bout getting canceled. But why did it not happen? Let’s find out!
Nikita Krylov became ill just before his UFC Vegas 70 main event fight
At the beginning of the main card, the broadcasters let the fans know that the main event fight will not take place. Fans were told that Nikita Krylov became ill upon arriving inside the Apex facility in Las Vegas. But fans do not have to be too worried as the real reason does not seem too serious.
UFC presenter Megan Olivi revealed that she spoke to the respective doctors and Nikita is apparently suffering from a food-related illness. Apparently, Nikita is still backstage, undergoing treatment to get better. Hence, the fans can expect the bout to be rescheduled for a date in the near future.
As for the main event of the card, Andre Muniz vs Brendan Allen will fill in the slot. It was originally the co-main event of the night. Ryan Spann was extremely disappointed after his fight got canceled.
