Conor McGregor has made a return to relevancy following the release of his Hollywood debut. Starring in the remake of the 1989 original “Road House”, it is clear that the UFC man has been keeping busy. However, some of his comments have seemingly rubbed people the wrong way.
For those unaware, ‘The Notorious One’ wrapped up filming of Road House last year, before delving into all the promotional media, interviews, and world tours. As such, it became evident that Conor, although enjoying it, was also having a tough go of things after a certain point.
As such, he had some very interesting comments ahead of the premiere of the film in London. McGregor said, “It was hard work. you know. Fighting compared to this was easy. And, I’m excited and eager to get back to the fight game because this is a tough business and I have so much respect for everyone in it.” Naturally, a shift for the fighter in many regards, it can be understood why he made the comments he did.
Joe Rogan slams Conor McGregor’s comments on fighting
For the most part, many can understand why to Conor McGregor, a two-divisional champion in the UFC, anything outside of fighting can seem difficult. Having dedicated his life to the sport, it is natural that fighting comes naturally to him, just like any other tenured fighter. At the same time, it is easy to see why his comments can be misunderstood as well.
In a recent episode of Joe Rogan‘s podcast, the same was brought up. First touched on by Mark Normand on JRE #2122, the aforementioned interview was discussed. However, Rogan immediately dismissed the comments.
“Listen to me, that’s not true. Okay, act in Road House or fight Khabib again? Shut the f*** up. That is crazy talk.”
“He broke his f***ing leg in a fight, he broke his leg like that is harder, that’s way harder than f***ing acting.”
Thereafter, Rogan realizes that Conor intended to say that acting was harder than fighting in the UFC for HIM, rather than it being a general statement for everyone. At the same time, the UFC color commentator praised the fighter for being one of the best promoters that there is in the game.
Fans react to Conor McGregor comparing fighting and acting
All things considered, one can see why acting may have been more difficult for Conor McGregor. Not only was the entire process time-consuming, but his involvement and the true extent of it were only really revealed in the behind-the-scenes of the film. As it turns out, McGregor had a big role to play in the fight choreography in the movie.
Similarly, the procedure for his extensive tattoo work was also revealed recently. Taking into consideration all these factors and the fact that he used to have 18-hour work days, it is clear why Conor McGregor feels about it the way he does. As such, his fatigue from all the media work and acting was also visible in a recent interview.
I mean he’s a fighter not an actor so he probably means it’s harder to him?

As for the fans online, many took into account the Irishman’s comments and what he really meant. At the same time, some even blamed the podcaster and his guests for taking things out of context. All things considered, the fans seemingly enjoyed Conor McGregor’s performance in Road House, with some egging him on for a role in the Fast and Furious franchise as well.
