Ian Garry is having a tough go of things at the moment. With the whole debacle surrounding his much older wife, it has been a difficult time for him on social media. Now, it appears that there are even more things coming out about the Irishman, and not for the right reasons.
Previously, there was a lot of talk about Garry getting kicked out of gyms all the time. Following rumors of being kicked out of Leon Edwards’ gym, Garry’s horrific track record at other gyms was exposed. Not only that, there were also talks of him getting knocked out by Edwards, which were proven to be false. This time, however, the rumors are much more credible and are likely true.
In one of his more recent videos, THE MMA GURU compiled a couple of interviews. Firstly, in a recent interview, Brendan Allen was quoted saying, “He (Garry) records everything right? They record everything but just know there is video, and he knows what name not to say to let it come out and what happened to him. Just know there is someone in that gym (Kill Cliff) that has slept him.”
Further, there was an episode from the WEIGHING IN podcast by Josh Thompson and John McCarthy, discussing ‘The Future’. Interestingly, Thompson said, “They train at the same gym, him and Shavkat and I would love to tell you how that sparring goes but I can’t and you’ll have to find out I guess.” Thus, taking into consideration the evidence, it becomes quite clear that both parties are alluding to Rakhmonov getting the better of Garry.
Ian Garry has always praised Shavkat Rakhmonov
Thus, it is all but confirmed that Rakhmonov was the one to knock out Garry in training. Further, this theory can be backed up by the fact that the 26-year-old has always heaped praise on the Kazakhstani fighter. Known for being loud and obnoxious, Garry has often trash-talked about a lot of fighters in the past.
Notably, Garry also has a tendency to shift the narrative with fighters as we have seen in the past. Previously, the Irishman would talk about his Team Renegade teammate Leon Edwards with a lot of respect. However, following the news of his departure from the gym, Ian suddenly changed his tone. Now, Garry started saying that Edwards had him kicked out because he would view the youngster as a ‘threat’.
Whilst it is natural to get knocked out during sparring, Ian’s behavior at gyms has not been the most impressive. Although he claims to not be afraid of fighting anyone, there is a reason why Shavkat is likely an exception. All things considered, how do you think a potential fight between Ian Garry and Shavkat Rakhmonov would play out? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
